Just talking your BIGGEST fish to date (can be length or weight [approx of course]) let's get some stats from everyone. Might be interesting to see the similarities and differences between everyone's "fish of a lifetime" at least to this date. I'll give my info here to show what kind of info I think we can all use for comparing/contrasting.

Length: 48"
Weight: 28lbs (?)
State Caught in: Wisconsin
Lake: Clearwater Lake, Oneida County
Depth: 15ft
Spot Type: weed edge
Water Qualities:
Date: Oct. 5th
Moon Phase: no clue
Bait: 10" Jake
Casting/Trolling: casting (twtiching)
Boat Position (if casting): front of the boat
Conditions: approx 45 degrees, pre-frontal, light winds

Lets get everyone (registered and non) to tell about the circumstances of their biggest fish, maybe we can see some "patterns" here?

I guess I'll chime in, since I dont have the biggest (dont want to brag) or the smallest (I'd hate to embarrass myself)!

My boat partner caught another 48" 20 minutes later and I lost one that was MUCH bigger about 20 minutes after that one.

Lake: Leech (Walker Bay)
Depth: 8 feet
Spot: Sand Break
Water: Clear
Date: 10/31/98
Moon: Unknown
Bait: Large Homemade Bucktail (Black with Hammered Brass)
Boat: Solo Day -- Caught mid boat after a lenghty fig8
Conditions: Warm late fall day, light wind.

Drove up to Leech from Home that morning (3.5 hours) to fish the day. Moved fish
just before dark she rolled on a spinnerbait, but didn't follow it out, came back in 15 minutes and she showed again,
this time coming to the boat. She was under the boat for a long time. Everytime I felt
like giving up, I would see her shadow. It was now dark and I knew she was big, but had no idea
how BIG she was. Finally out of frustration I started speeding up the motions and went to a big oval loop instead
of a 8. On one of my fast straight aways, my rod just stopped. Water sprayed and line went zipping off the reel.

Got her in the net, cut and removed the hooks. Put her to the ruler and let her go. Only had one other follow that day but
what a way to end the day!
