Posts: 146 Location: Wayzata, MN | OK, maybe it's just because I'm still on the DL with a back injury [hope to get back at it next week]... but, it's time for some banter... QUESTION: If you could only have THREE baits total in your boat, what would they be? Me? 1) Single treble bucktail, black hair with a little brown & red, with a gold blade 2) 8" Topraider [black & orange] 3) 10" Jointed Believer [redhead, I affectionately call the 'pink steel']

Posts: 7119 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Easy answer, because I usually only bring 10 (at most) in the boat anyways....though the list changes from lake to lake, but I'll give it a go here: 1. 10" Jake in Tenn Shad 2. Bucher Straight Depthraider in Perch 3. 6" Hughes River Shaker in Whitefish. I can work the baby shaker fast, slow, deep, rythmically or erratically, and can even troll it. The big Jake is just a giant killer, no questioning that, and it can be worked in a zillion different ways like the shaker. The d-raider can be trolled, cast straight, or twitched shallow. And come on, Muskies love perch. It was hard not to put a Violent Strike spinnerbait or Voodoo Tails bucktail up there, but those generally only get the summer treatment, while I will use the above three choices all year round.

Posts: 827 Location: Minneapolis,Minnesota | 1) Large red Pacemaker -once I figure out the trick to keeping big fish pinned on this bait it'll be a good producer. It's my most chewed up bait that has yet to bring one to the net. 2) Crappie Weagel -I will retire the one I have as soon as I can get another one. Mine looks like it's been thru a mortar attack. 3) White/nickle Snowcrest Willow buck -good color pattern for all types of water. Burns easy and can be worked deep if need be. That would be my three for now...next year it might change to three other baits. If I had a few more I would throw in a 6" HR Hughey, a J-Mac jig and a Suick.

Posts: 1939 Location: Black Creek, WI | Hmmmmm.... these posts always make you think. I'd be happy from opener to ice-up with: 1. 10" Jake (some sort of sucker flavor) 2. TripleD (some sort of cisco flavor) 3. Homemade Bucktail (don't really care what color) Awww heck... I could probably be content with the Jake and Bucktail if need be. Despite that, I still bring 10,000 lures along JUST IN CASE (heh heh). jlong

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | The custom Kly Weagle A black and gold jointed Grandma Cisco bulldawg. Matter of fact, those will be the 3 I am throwing this weekend. (aside from the other 10K baits I will likely bring. I hate this trolling/casting bite at the same time. Too many baits in the boat. (did I say too many??!!) Not enough baits in the boat. LOL

Posts: 1764 Location: Ogden, Ut | In no particular order...(Utah waters only; if I fished elsewhere, this list would probably suck) J-13 Rapala; firetiger or perch Mepps Muskie Killer; black/gold spring dawg; black/orange tail (or all black) I can pretty much cover all of my local needs w/ those 3...despite bringing along as many as 3 boxes... | I would have to have a pull bait, something with a spinner, and a surface bait and a deeper bait. Pull bait would have to be a burt in original rainbow, but if somebody stuck me with a fooler, suick, or small Bobbie, I could live with those. I probably err by not taking a spinnerbait, but need to have the highspeed option available, so gotta take something with a #5 aglia blade in chartreuse(good all around color)and a black tail definitely black, somewhat close to magnum bootail specs, weight and size wize and have to carry 2 sets of trebles. Deep and high are left and though it is not the BEST tool for either, I could live with a jointed depth raider, black or natural, no black. Crank it slow and it is appealing, crank it deep and it makes contact. If somebody made me take a straight depth raider instead or a triple D, I could work with either.

Posts: 578 Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | Weagle- Perch, I guess that's what it is anyway. Steve Jonesi knows the color Mepps Musky Marabou- White Pearl Blade/Black-White tail Mepps Musky Marabou- Chartreuse Blade/Black-Chartreuse tail I would take those 3 so everyone could see, then I would sneak in a Top Raider (BullFrog), Hawg Wobbler (Black) and a Shallow Invader (Walleye). I would also sneak in a silver Mepps Musky Marabou blade, no tail needed as I would put it on the black and white tail. Just look at those Mepps; and to think that I do not even work for the company anymore. Working for them or not, they are still producing fish for me. Chuck
