I'm voting barred natural muskie. Tigers have the broken or solid bars with spots between or in the pattern, best I can discern that is.

Here is pic evidence to support my case:

because the face does'nt carry the markings of a northern, the tail looks somewhat pointed and the body stripes are wide, I'm going to say this is a barred Musky.

Smaller fish carry more distinct barring and colors and as they age the barring does get duller.

My question is, what happened to your head?

LOL, The lake is too easy to read. The spot is where I saw a 45 incher swim thru last year.

You wouldnt want to see my ugly mug anyways.

I thought it was a barred but a guy told me he has caught over 100 tigers growing up on Wingra and that it was definetly a tiger.

Thanks!

Looks like a natural barred because of no markings on the head...but pretty fish none the less!

Definitely a barred musky, not a tiger.

Nice tribute to Ray Charles.

How bout this? The muskie asked to remain nameless as he/she may have had a "less-than-reputable" father.

Muskies in Wingra??? Don't let that bit of info get out the general public!!!

This is the famous Sahara muskie... beautiful plumage... this one's paining for the fiords. I don't think the camo gear really fooled anybody though.

I accidently gave away the location of that last fish but this one I've been sworn to secrecy on so please don't even ask...

Craig, I think I fished that lake before..isn't it Everest lake located near Qing Zang Gaoyuan region of Nepal?? by the way, the Saharan fish...you look a little over dressed for that local... but then, don't the fish usually bite better there when cold fronts move in?

Now here's a hybrid muskie from about as far north as they travel (although I'm not at liberty to say what "lake" this is). The lady angler is part of the indigenous population. They make muskie lures from their own saliva, molding them and then allowing the sub-zero temperatures harden them. If you happen to come across one of these lures do not attempt to use them during the summer months – you’ll end up with nothing but a big loogie.

Try as I might, I was unable to keep this little honey-hole a secret. Pretty much every picture of a muskie I took had that darned pyramid in it! Now it's nearly impossible to find a place to park at the Suez public launch and I'll be #*^@ed if I'm gonna pay 200 piastres to launch at the private launch.

... and who can forget the Salisbury PMTT event. The locals (Druids if I recall correctly) were telling EVERYONE to fish the neolithic monuments. Boats were lined up clear to Southampton just to get a cast or two in. I fished the sport stadiums and came up empty.

...another hot spot revealed. If you look closely over Vito's left shoulder you'll notice the Roman Coliseum. This fine specimen came from the weedbed near the west entrance. My advice would be to pull up in the parking lot across the street and use your trolling motor to cast your way through the saddle area created by the main street. As you can see in the picture pedestrian traffic is fairly high here so be sure to make short, accurate casts. Cars with the word "Polizi" should be avoided at all costs as they tend to scare away the fish.

Nights in Paris are not just for amore'... the night bite near the tower can be quite productive. The guy on the horse (to the left of Reee-chard) is actually a weather vane so keep an eye out for wind changes.

While not widely known as a hot spot, Sea World has long been a producer of some, you guessed it, whales. It can be difficult to find the launch and many locals (some people call them "security guards" ) will tell you that it's not allowed but with some cash, a little bit of low light conditions and a fast vehicle you'll be able to get there. Insider Tip: Always carry a few dead herring when fishing Sea World as one of the security ladies with slimy looking skin, a funny mustache and a bad cough will always look the other way when given the proper bribe.

Be sure to check the Sea World website as local fishing regulations change from site to site. I once got busted for being three penguins over the limit. I don't think they're letting me back in.

Sorry folks - I left out something on the original post... This is a good example of why you should use fluorocarbon leaders. If you look at the fish (OK mammal but you get the idea) in the background you'll notice him about to strike a topwater lure (dressed in black). You can't see the leader attached to him can you??? We have the strike on video but Sea World, Inc. seems to have some objection to it's release. I don't know about you but I love seeing topwater hits.

This Alcatraz prisoner escaped only to catch a bad case of muskie fever while rowing to the San Francisco shores. Trolling with a deep diving crank bait made out of a spoon and bed springs, he hooked this fish. While photographing it he was recaptured and spent the rest of his life behind bars dreaming of the muskies just outside the prison walls.

... the fish was detained briefly and questioned regarding the escape attempt. She was later cleared of all wrongdoing and released.

... the lure sold for $2,345.03 on Ebay.

Often known as the Taj Mahal of muskie fishing, here is the Taj Mahal... of muskie fishing. Local muskie expert Darpak Suick (pictured) shares his secrets with all who can fish with him caste for caste. Curry colored Bulldawgs and bucktails in the tandoori perch patterns are favored by those who fish here on a regular basis. NOTE: Life jackets are required when fishing the Taj Mahal, wear yours or you'll be sari (as am I for typing such a pathetic line).
