Location: oswego, il | For crankbaits, I love depth raiders, slammer deep divers, lip rippers, grandma deep divers, zams(zalts too but they can be consideres a jerkbait) mirrolures, I will probably add more as my mind starts working again, just locked up. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Slammer Cranks, by a long shot. Quality bait that cranks, twitches, jerks, and catches as many muskies as any out there, by a quality builder and some pretty vertical booth personnel assistants. Sorry, SVL, had to take the shot. |

| The triple D has become my new go to bait, but my favorite cranks before that are the Depth Raider and Slammer Crank. |

Location: WI - Land of small muskies and big jawbones | My favorite are Crane crankbaits. They are not as durable as a lot of others but they work for me so its worth it. When you get them you have to be sure the lips are in straight or sometimes they will not work right. Cranes seem to give off more vibration than other crankbaits I've used. I think that is what makes them so effective. |

Location: Illinois-Indiana | Without a boubt it would have to be the Slammer cranks and the DDD.
These two lures accounted for more fish in my boat this year than any other lures. They are both very versitile (cast, twitch, troll) and most important just plain CATCH FISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!;)

Trolling-Grandmas, Jakes,Believers and Tuff Shads

Location: Eagan, MN | I'm surprised there are no votes for the Believer. It's probably the most versatile lure made, period. I use both the 8" and 10", jointed and solid. Great on the shallow setting over weedbeds. The jointed is my 'go to' choice for night fishing -- rod tip held high, crank just fast enough to keep it below the surface. Awesome trolling baits for both rock and weedlines, and great hooking percentage. It's the most weedless crankbait I've ever used, and its bouyancy keeps it from snagging rocks when trolling. Easily my top producing crank.
It looks like Steve and Matt must have been writing their posts at the same time I was. Good to see some other Believer fans out there.

Location: Oconto Falls, WI | Without a doubt the Triple D, Bagley DB08, and Cisco Kids. They all just plain catch fish. Triple D's and Bagleys are great in cooler water temps (but still awesome in warm water as well), and the Cisco Kids I like when not wanting a suspending bait. Triple D's and Bagleys are very easy to "work", and the cisco kid just has a certain action to it that the fish love. |

Location: Davenport, IA | My favorite crankbaits are cranes and big game twitchbaits. They are both lightweigh (not durable) balsa wood. The big game cranks run a little deeper than the cranes. There is so much you can do w/ these baits. They are very versatile and catch fish too. |

Jointed Depth Raiders for trolling and night fishing.
All around favorite for casting in clearer and most natural lakes is the Hi Fin Trophy Diver. Very versital lure that I can weight to acheive different actions, running depths, and degree of buoyancy.
I like the newer grannies too and did well with them in 03, but need to experiment more with them for more than one season before they become a true favorite. |

For deep water, Ernies & Depth raider.
Color depends on the environment - I don't lock myself in to a specific color. I do tend to prefer darker tones though. |

Cranes and Big Game crankbaits work great in the 1 to 6 ft range after that the Triple DDD pretty much takes over.
TR Twitchers are pretty nice also.

Location: Ogden, Ut | Favorite or most productive? My fav is currently a 6" Slammer in perch color - I absolutely love the bait, it looks good in and out of the water and you can work it almost any way you want. The problem is the fish have been less than impressed...probably operator error.
My most productive is a tie between (this should peobably go in the 'crankbaits...don't laugh at me' thread, but oh well) a J-13 Rapala in firetiger and a Berkley Frenzy in firecraw. Lots of fish (up to 44") on both, the Frenzy makes me especially nervous as they certainly aren't the most durable of baits.

Location: Chicago, Beverly | Does it have to be a Musky Bait? If not first and foremost the Mann's Baby 1 Minus...it has seen some Pike and musky, in addition to tons of bass. Otherwise if we are talking just musky, 7.5" Jointed magna strike Garndma's, Rapala Super Shad Raps, Believers/Swim Whizz's. Why? Because they all work great for me. I have to get me some of those Countdown Super Shad raps though...Too bad no-one in the USA sells the darn things... |
