My 2020 fishing season came to an inglorious end in Mid-September....but the boat is back (ish, it's now in the shop) and I'm ready for 2021.

What do to?

Going to make leaders, build some cool tube rigs...

What is everyone else doing to keep from breaking out the chain saw and carving the ice from your local ponds?

Couple wood working projects, ice fishing, reading thick biographies. But, I am retired and have more experience at being useless.
If you have not read Hamilton by Ron Chernow, I highly recommend. Very interesting book in that it gives a different perspective on a number of the founding fathers.
Only a hundred or so pages into another book by him, Grant, but it is a good read as well.
How the heck someone read Hamilton, a very dense, detailed biography and decided it would make a great rap musical is beyond me. One of the biggest hit musicals in history.

Alot of ice fishing going on here in Vilas County. Snowmobile trails are open but are destroyed due to no snow. Ice fishing pressure is way up due to perfect conditions - solid ice, little snow, mild temps, no snowmobiling, and Covid. Its a perfect storm but I'll save that rant for a different thread.

Almost done finishing the inside of the shop. Switching my bait storage to wall racks like many have posted about on here. Then I'll grab a few baits for each outing vs taking my entire boat bag.

And I do love me some old school Hank!!!

Building baits and rewrapping guides on my rods. Buying a few more baits, cuz who doesn’t need more!? Ice fishing has been pretty decent as well. Building rods is a go to for me...be they musky rods, ice rods, or whatever...

Well...due to unfortunate timing just before Thanksgiving, I have been tuning a new archery set-up as all my equipment was stolen right out of my truck...sitting in my driveway. Was all packed for the next morning to go one last time before wisconsin rifle season opened.

Lost the bow, the treestand, all my little items I take into the woods... Was not a happy camper and definitely was not looking to upgrade equipment.

But....long story short, the tuning and getting used to a new bow has kept me busy after work is done for the day.

Really think that if you have enough to sell, you could get big money at shows for those openers. Really well done, and the kind of thing folks would buy because it is different and would make great gift for fisherman.

I'd fish with any one of those bottle openers. The hole in the lip may give it a unique wobble, and who needs hooks if you keep a tight line? m

My cabin fever project last winter was making beetle spins, smaller bucktails and spinnerbaits for our youth programs and big bucktails for our meeting door prizes. About 600 baits in all, now sitting in bags to be used in 2022. Painted the jigs and bent the wire on the beetle spins and to my delight work way better than store bought. I found supplies in bulk and a few donations of supplies by others like Ghoti on this site. We do alot of youth giveaways at the sport shows.

I appreciate the compliments thanks. Yea the bottle openers are easier to make frankly, and have been far more popular than I thought. Bigger target audience. I started making them so I could practice painting.

Been wanting to try forging and thought this would be a good time. These are first attempts so they are pretty crude. Throwing axe from leaf spring, veggie chopper from lawn mower blade and knife from coil spring
