I don't have any complaints about the 14' Big Fish, but I want a 17 or 18 footer with walk-thru windshield. The Mariner has been absolutely perfect (too bad I can't say the same for larger HP Mercs....like 75s and 90s that cough and studder regularly). I would like a 30 or 35HP, but this Mariner would be hard to part with. Someone please make an affordable mapping GPS with digitized maps of Ontario Lakes and rivers. I'll buy 3! | ||

Posts: 550 Location: So. Illinois | I make due with a hand-me down boat from my Father in-law. Paid next to nothing for it and have dumped several grand into it getting it to run. It had been in storage for years with no more than 50 total hours on the engine. Had to do a major rebuild of all seals, gaskets, etc. Just got it running great this spring and put hundreds of hours on it this year. I had a major failure of the lower unit last trip out. Add another $2K of repairs and I should be back on the water.......
