How many of these can you guys come up with? I have afew so far. You know you're a Muskie fisherman when:
1- you get annoyed by a smallmouth/largemouth angler asks you how the bass are biting because clearly a Muskie rod, reel, figure 8's, and 7.5-10 inch lures really resemble bass tackle.
2- You grow a distaste for people who pose in photos with Muskie by holding them vertically.
3- You get used to getting started at by bass anglers who are fishing in the same area of the river/lake as you

You tell the shrink your wife is forcing you to visit, “Every time a musky turns away half into the first eight, I relive the time my high school sweetheart pushed my hand away when I thought she wanted it,” and the therapist says, “And how did that make you feel?” And, you say, “A proper figure eight sometimes requires a longer rod.”

You are always glancing at other boats within eyesite to figure out where there next spot is making sure it's not yours.

A re-make of the Cady 'Musky Nut' lists? I still have my t-shirt (framed) if you wish me to transcribe the list of ten we did back in the day. m

You've said the words "I'm done with this" after 11 hours of getting skunked and then ordered new custom-colors of baits that you see on your phone during the ride home.

when you first said, "this is my last cast" about 3 hours ago, with no more success than the previous 1000 casts. Because, there just might be a hit coming!

when the sighting of a swirl, a tap of your lure keeps the adrenaline and boat chatter going another hour. Because, it must have been a musky, and it could have been big!

when you discuss lure colors and retrieve speeds all the way home, like it would have really mattered.

When you feel guilty on a vacation for taking it easy for a half hour, because you know in the back of your mind that the fish are going right now.

Woke up to this in Canada some years back:

SAMANTHA: "OWWWW!! GOD &$*&%IT!!! WHAT THE %&$* did you do that for?!??!"

ME: (baffled) "Wha? Whadeye do?!? You must have been dreaming."

SAMANTHA: "You were talking in your sleep and then you smacked me with your elbow!!"

ME: "I was?? I did?"

SAMANTHA: You said: "Oh, oh... there's one! GOT 'EM!!"

ME: "Ohhh yeahhhh. If it's any consolation, it was a BIG S.O.B.!!"

Laughing so hard at this right now. Cause I seriously just had this conversation with my co-worker yesterday. And most my co-workers know me well enough when a full moon phase comes up they dont see me for a couple days. So right now I am at work and my co-worker just asked me why are you at work during a full moon. Unfortunately the Vacation hours are pretty low so thats why im here.

From TIME ON THE WATER by Bill Gardner
“October 1st
Let’s try to make some sense of all this. I’ve now gone 52 days without a musky and caught only two in the past 100 days. And I was blanked in September, one of the best months. Or is it? We know the three-day period of the Musky Classic in early September wasn’t too great. One musky was caught each day for every 50 fishermen in the Classic. Which is exactly what I’ve been averaging over the past 100 days—one fish per 50 days.”

One of my favorites not for the stats but he just kept going out just like every one of us “nuts” would do!

You can look at a dozen photos of fish all caught over 5 years ago and immediately regurgitated every detail about the fish, location , lure, time of day and month the fish was caught, but can’t remember what you did last weekend if you weren’t fishing.

And when you get excited after a slow day because you see bass fisherman or walleye fisherman absolutely crushing fish in a certain hollow and decide you're going to fish there too because they are catching bait like crazy

When you're mowing the lawn and you notice the wind direction and you think "Man today would be a great day to fish the West end of _____ Island!"

Or when you look at the weather the day before a trip and think "38 and rain... That's not TOO bad!'

When it's late fall/early winter and in the high 30's low 40's and you're the only boat at the landing then another truck pulls in with a boat and you both know you're fishing for muskie
