I thought they only send them to you if you bought one in the past.

I did...and still haven't received mine. Thanks for the reminder.

I received one, and wish I hadn't I have zero interest. I'd like to see them stop making the calendar or change the format to an online preorder and pay system. I doubt this is a money maker for them.

MI calendar... almost as big of a money pit as the printed magazine.

You know what you need to do is contact your Chapter Representive and your Regional Representative. And tell them how you feel!

I'm disappointed. I support Muskies, Inc. as well as a local Muskie Club - so I get the importance of donations. I think it is best to accept this calendar in return for a donation. If you really want "art" - Musky Hunter and the Musky Shop have much better products available. I see on the back of the Muskies, Inc, they have a price of $15. Yikes.

I don't mind the calendar and have donated $50 every year for at least the past 15 maybe longer. If a $15 donation will hurt your pocketbook or is too much for you to donate for an organization that helps stock, supports research and fights against the naysayers then perhaps fishing is not the hobby for you ! I am pretty certain that most don't mind spending at least double that on a new musky lure, but geez there would only be maybe half as many lakes or muskiest to catch if it weren't for muskies inc. Not to mention some of the clubs also do a lot of local fundraising help youth etc.
But I'm sure you can think of a much better way to spend your hard earned $15

Your lack of logic is mind boggling. All I’m saying is the calendar needs to turn a profit, otherwise it’s draining the funds from those important items you listed. As for local clubs and the work they do last I checked that comes not from the resources of Muskies Inc but from the efforts of the members and the local community and fishing companies that support them. Print the calendar but only send it to those folks who pay for it. But only as long as it’s Profitable.

Martin,

questioning the integrity of my pocketbook, and the hobbies i choose to pursue makes you look petty and childish. It isn't the cost that I disagree with. I believe the system is flawed. I don't think your generous donation goes to any other projects than over printing the following years calendar hoping and wishing people buy them. what is wrong with a preorder system to judge interest? When MI international tries to sell my MI chapter a ton of left over 2017 calendars in February of 2017, instructing us to in turn sell them to recoup the check we wrote to the international, then yes the calendar is a money pit. I also don't believe we were the only chapter MI tried to sell the left over calendars to. tell me, how do you market a 2017 calendar to try and recoup costs when the year is 20% over already? we bought the left over calendars as a good faith gesture to the mother ship, and reduced our chapters contributions to the MN DNR. Who won that transaction? Not my chapter of MI, or the MN DNR. interested in your thoughts.

Received my calendar the other day and sent in the money and wanted another. It is possible there getting a good deal on printing. Either they know someone with a printing company or just getting a good deal. Let's say it costs 4 or 5 dollars and some for mailing. I would still think they are making 9 or 10 dollars a calendar

MI is getting the family discount on offset printing, converting, assembly, and shipping? I had a giant unicorn follow a double 10 in 15 figure 8’s once.

It seems to me that the only place we get dumber as a group than thinking either the Republicans or Democratics are really on “our” side is when anything about Muskies Inc. is discussed. The reality is that a thing doesn’t have to be perfect in order to be pretty darn good. Because it’s run by us, let’s face it, gee-whiz, what a group of mis-fits to start with, it’s gonna have flaws. And, it’s gonna have arguments. The important thing is that we are mostly a statistically insignificant population. There’s no real money or power in musky fishing. We are too small a group to practice canibalism and last out a whole year. I belong to Muskies Inc., I support it and am positive it’s good for our sport. I could write stuff I don’t like about it, or stuff I don’t like about Mrs. Junkman, but it will hurt me because, on the whole, both are good to me. In fact, what I think is the best article I have ever written will be in one of the next few issues of their magazine, and yea...it’s not Musky Hunter but so the heck what? It’s what we’ve got, and it’s free with a very valuable membership.

Ha, Hardly... just doesn't make sense to talk it out when one side is so unwilling to accept some transitional ideas when it comes to an antiquated system. Lets print a bunch, pay to ship them out, and hope people in turn donate. I would love to see the Internationals returns on this project annually, and will ask at my next board meeting. Whats the opposition to a pre order system?

That exact information is available to members on the Muskies Inc. website if you look over the minutes from board meetings that describe the financials. The annual calendar is one of the larger sources of revenue for Muskies Inc.'s governing body.

In an effort to reduce printing and shipping costs, for 2017 they sent calendars only to those who had paid in previous years, and made other calendars available for people to purchase through their chapter meetings or whatnot. Revenue was significantly reduced. Thus in 2018 they returned to the previous strategy of mailing a calendar to everyone and asking people to submit donations in return.

The new/current leadership group is using money and other resources more efficiently, and returning more of it back to the regions and chapters. Well worth 15 bucks!

I guess I couldn’t find the detailed breakdown could you be so kind as to state the date of the meeting notes in which you found this information regarding printing costs, shipping costs, along with a final total of the revenue generated? I found a small section regarding funds donated for a set period of time but I could have missed something.
