Any specs or what type of reel it is Steve?
Should I have waited before buying a Beast?

Wait---Im confused---

My "New" Revo Torro Beast BST 60 4.9 & BST 60HS 6.2 are still in the box waiting to be seated on my rods for the big summer trip of 2016....The Beast Series reel just came out late 2015 season right?

I cant even imagine how they could introduce a new reel---with 2 brand new Musky Reels that just hit the market----at 400.-- a pop they were supposed to be competition for the Tranx.....and the next big thing....lots of rave reviews...

What am I missing here....?

Someone needs to tell them they are going to lose business if their "new" Musky Reels become obsolete before you even get to use them......

Why would your new reels be obsolete? They are not electronics devices that get increased speed and memory every two weeks.

But aren't they? Speed (ipt) and memory (spool capacity)

Just messing lol. I'm pumped to see what comes out? I need one more reel.

Let's see it already. I guessing the "zoom" is a hint, maybe abu's answer to the tranx?

Someone needs to tell you you are assuming too much and thereby 'leading with your chin', so I just did.

No one who ordered a Beast will be disappointed, but some will add this sweet machine to the arsenal.

And the Beast was not designed to 'compete with the Tranx', it was designed to be at the top of the 'all around' muskie reel category.

The new reel is not a branded as a Beast but is a Revo Toro, that much I'll let out of the bag. And it's not a giant reel, either. I'll have it (and the surprise that has to wait a bit) early next week and do a review same day.

Dang, I was thinking it's be a Beast with the 5:3:1 gearing... How would the S and Beast become obsolete tho? I'm sure Abu is savvy enough business-wise to not market against themselves... Plus, they know we are suckers, why else would they pretty much be the only company developing reels specifically targeting the musky fishermen/women?

New reels don't make older models obsolete. The Shimano Calcutta B is still around and a good reel, even though the Tranx is their new hotrod. The Toro NACL's that I own are still great reels even though they don't make them anymore.

It is surprising to see them come out with a new reel already. I have a new Beast and S to try this year also. Will be curious to see what the new model is. Not likely to buy this year being that I'm pretty well stocked but it's good to have options coming to the market.

I need one more reel so I am pumped. I hope it's priced moderately that's all. And I'm glad to hear it's a revo toro platform reel.

Not sure where a new Revo toro will fit in. It could be more gear ratios for the S as someone mentioned. It seems unlikely that it will be a higher price point version in the general mold of the beast. Could it be a model cheaper then the S? A smaller frame and non-disengaging levelwind? The speculation is fun but other than new gear ratios for the S or an even cheaper model I am not sure where another Revo Toro Musky reel will fit in.

I think Abu's new offering will blow alot of people away for what you get! May even sway alot of guys over to the lopros that have been sticking with the more economic round reels
