Ok. Share it! What's your new plan for next year's muskie season?
Maybe get out more? Get out less. Get your kids involved or their first musky?
Maybe a simple one like rat nest the reel a little less.
Get the world record fish.
try a new tactic(S)
Learn how to use those electronics.
beat last year's total?
catch my first fitty?

Don't treat a lost fish like it's the end of the world.
Sometimes they get off, there will be other ones....
No point in stewing over something you can't always control.

Be ready for the next one.

1. Try trolling.
2. boat 15 fish.
3. Going back to Vermilion in hopes to not get skunked.
4. Try go get pops on the water more this year.
5. Going to try and keep the musky season budget under $5,000.00 this year.

Get my Dad and Uncle on more muskies. I know my cousin, my sister, and myself will do fine, but my dad and uncle only catch like 1 a year. I'd like them to get more action or beat their PB's.

Introduce 1 or 2 new people to the sport to blow their mind. It's hard being in a state where musky fishing isn't a common thing. Most people just want to get in a boat and drink themselves stupid while a nightcrawler is casted out in a rod holder.

Fish with more out of state musky nuts and meet more cool people and learn new lakes. This year was awesome and want to expand that even more.

Double Nickel.

Try different areas.
Fish early mornings, more.
Try different baits.
Take care of my body, better.
Stop, and smell the roses, more.
Make new "muskie fishing" friends.
Appreciate my wife more, for never giving me grief, for fishing everyday!
Enjoy every minute, of my dream, because it won't last forever.

In 2015 I traded jobs and moved across two states. Somewhere between the job change and selling/buying houses and moving and getting the family settled the boat got sold too. Long story short: I got out twice. In 2016, I'm going fishing!

Get better at remembering to hold my farts until my fishing partner is down wind.

Wait until at least noon to start drinking, or at least until I lose one.

Try to be funny.
Try to be serious.
Be more critical of others.
Let big fish get under my skin.
Be overly competitive with anyone I fish with.
Dislike fibs.
Learn a new language and mostly speak it.
Be closed off to other points of view.
Cosplay in the boat.
Swear more.

I will begin my transition from small lakes to Fishing the GREAT LAKES .. I have wanted to do this for a few years but due to the cost of getting a larger boat I have put it off---this is my year---I am looking at boats and will be purchasing A Larger Rig to handle the conditions---- So come MAY--I should be on the BIG LAKES !! Can't WAIT..

After fishing muskies almost exclusively for over 25 years I'm going to fish them less until after Labour Day. My goal for the coming year is to catch 25 different species of fish with rod and reel within 50 miles of my front door. I've compiled a list of 30 possibles but there may be one or two others.

Edit: After further consideration I may have to give myself a 100 mile range not because the fish aren't within 50 miles but because of where I will be.

Have never made a resolution I didn't wind up breaking. So this year? I just wanna fish as much as I can, have some fun, and end up in one piece at the end of the season.

I suppose these are more anti-musky fishing resolutions, but balance is everything.

Cast off the dock more at dusk, even when the mosquitoes are terrible
Focus on more multi-species fishing
Spend more time working on the house/property
Spend more time with my wife
Life is short, savor every precious moment

Troll more and simply fish smarter. And enjoy my time on the water. We all lose fish and sometimes that makes us lose sight of other awesome experiences we may have on a given day. Yeah losing fish sucks. Losing big fish really sucks but it's all part of the game and it's the reason why we play it

catch more fish than I did this year, and have my average size improve from lastt year. Catch a fish on opening day, and catch one on the last day of the season on my home water!

Muskie resolution: Make the best out of time on the water. Having a 1 year old and another on the way is probably going to limit free time even more than this year. That said, I caught more fish this year than any other year, and I got my PB....soooo....maybe less time makes me more focused/productive?

Off the water resolution: be the best dad and husband I can be...happy wife = understanding wife = I get to go fishing when I want!
