Posts: 1220 | You know..we have visited a lot of those lakes in recent years: Tonka, Leech, Mille Lacs, and Vee just last August. And I, for one, love to go as well as seeing the biggest fish ever even though (I know) I didn't catch them on tournament days. But fishing there doesn't exactly fit the PMTT format for tournament days or judging. I think, for the most part, we've been going more lately and I hope it continues.

Marty, How does fishing MN. lakes not fit in with the PMTT format ? Is it because the Tournaments are held on Fri-Sat. ? What's the difference ? And not having Judge Boats is another option that will save the PMTT money in the long run. Just asking.

Posts: 1220 | No question I like your water Jerome, and weekend fishing only matters to guys who have to take days off work, clearly not used up guys like us. And, there's nothing wrong with the judge boat formula either , you just can't wait around in MN and not be in possession. If you know me, I'll fish with anybody's rules, anywhere there is contest, anytime. I just know my day will roll around. In the meantime the PMTT is what we got, and it's pretty darn good too, and since I'm not the guy investing my time and money putting on a tournament, I figure the guy who is can pick his lakes. I sent in my trail team entry today.

Posts: 4080 Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | Marty, are you fishing with Shamless again this year ? I would have liked Cass Lake this year. I think "most" guys would want to take an extra day off.... After all Muskie season up here is only 7 months. Work overtime more. Edited by Top H2O 1/20/2016 4:43 PM

Posts: 1220 | I wish I could tell you about that big Irish guy, so far he's hard to convince. I'm still hoping though. Otherwise I'm going to have to find another partner who is willing to catch all the fish for me! Not the best stick but never missed a net job.

Posts: 48 | Everyone, Starting in 2016, all PMTT tournaments will be CPR, catch, photo and release, no judge boats at any of the qualifiers and the championship. The website is being redone and updated right now to state these changes and the brochures at the sport shows already have this info in them. The PMTT

Posts: 1220 | We've done without the judge boats in Minnesota, and I've heard no complaints. The cameras are better today, and the ability for tournament officials to see whatever they need to see to verify the accuracy of the photos is also plenty good enough. If a cheater ties up a fish somewhere, no judge would help with that anyway. Honestly, there are a few rotten turds out there who will cut you off, hog the spotlight, and generally fail to recognize that some really great anglers just can't catch em in a PMTT event (humm), but really..................I pretty much think (turd or no turd) this is a very honest and honorable bunch who don't cheat, wouldn't cheat, and wouldn't hang around with those who do. I'm not a bit worried about the format change.

Posts: 572 | The only comment I've heard has been concerned with a "good release", where 10 bonus points use to be given for a good release. There is still a ten point deduction for a fish that dies, as well as, the contestant who caught the fish will be done for day. I doubt if either of these will impact the tournaments. And, I agree with Junkman about "honest and honorable bunch".
