they have been selling for well over 100 on ebay, I saw one of his vortex models sell for 200 something... it crax me up, a guy should check out Spankys as they are made exactly like Dadsons...don't get me wrong, I have a lot of fish on my dadsons with a few over 50...but they aren't worth anything over retail pricing... most of the guys buying them won't even catch a big fish on them.... supply and demand but that is America!

Using a lure is a confidence thing, when you spend a 100$ on a lure your going to have plenty of confidence in it.

whats different between a musky mayhem and a dadson? $100 for a bucktail? Kudos to the man building the lures if he can trick people into spending 100 dollars unless there is something really unique? I could be just missing something.

Mr. Dadson's dealers do sell them for a little more than a cowgirl, its the people that re-sell them are driving the prices up, kinda like scalpers.

Most blades, especially marabou are good for 5-10 fish, Dadson tend to last a lot longer. I have a purple haze with over 30 fish on it and it looks new outside of teeth scratches. So I doubt you are really paying more as 1 dadson last 3-4 times longer. They also look nice. I have some extras if you have some cash;-)

Nothing special about them that makes them more effective than the others out there. If people want to spend $100 on one lure when they could buy 4 or more lures for the same amount that are just as effective if not better then they are more than welcome to do so.

The bullets run deeper. Like Nelson said, great baits and I have netted fish with them in their mouths. Like any bait that is hard to get, once it is, musky fisherman will go nuts. Remember when you could not buy a manta for less than 50?

Followers believe in magic lures.

If one of my kids needed a kidney, I would give one to a matching donor, not sure I would be able to keep up with the applicants.

I am going to get Dadson to poop in a bag. Imagine what his turds would sell for?

Do it soon before the stores get them in stock again. They wont fetch a high dollar for that much longer now. Dont be shy either. Guys will come right out and offer a lot more than $100 a piece... especially if theyre older hair baits.

For that price you could buy all the components needed to make 4 of the exact same bucktails, and like others have said you could get 4 different brand tails as well or even just wait for them to come back in stock.

X2. I wish thornes and musky shop had a live online website like MTO.

Make yer own 9mm or buy a CG Jr. and rebuild it using heavier wire.
Clevises, blades, beads, thread, tinsel, egg sinker, split rings, shrink wrap & hooks are all standard stuff on the 9mm.
If there's a rare oddball, it's Spankys cuz of the blades he uses.

Those probably went to people on the waiting list.

EDIT:

Just picked up two musky bullets on MTO. They were selling out like hotcakes.

Because us musky fisherman are ridiculous!

I will learn to make em before i spend that much.

Ive been downsizing my tackle supply over the last few seasons, because when i go on my trips, i usually throw 3-5 baits the whole week! silly hauling around that many baits IMO anymore...

I think I would be bummed if I was Mr. Dadson. His customers are making more money re-selling his baits than he is!

Gotta be happy about that kind of demand though.

Which is proof of what I have always thought, to fish muskies one has to be a bit nuts and very obsessive. Some more than others.

I must say the Dadsons are much better built then CGs but despite countless hours of throwing them while having some action they have put exactly 0 fish in the net on my boat.
