Posts: 1764 Location: Ogden, Ut | I'm old, but I generally hang around with guys younger than myself so they can do all the heavy lifting... They lift their fish, and I take their picture. Besides, it's fun to call them whipper snappers and tell them 'back in my day' stories. You know the ones...back in my day, we never ran out of gas in the middle of the night, back in my day, rocks weren't marked on maps, back in my day, there WERE muskies in Potato Lake. Makes for good laughs. S. Edited by sorenson 7/8/2015 6:39 PM

S. same here ... with age comes wisdom. smallies trump muskies unless you are either on the right water or on the water at the right time. trolling is still for the weak of mind and body ... 7 day trip on day 7 i'm on the deck rippin' while the kids are down wondering how i can keep going and my score is higher. type A til i die ... knowing where the rock is is half the battle ... :0)

Maybe the pop up ads here should be for Geritol, Cialis and divorce lawyers from what I'm seeing. Nice to see a strong class of seasoned veterans.

Posts: 251 | Same here. 30 with the back of someone much older. I would laugh at the comments about geritol and advil etc, but I just packed my bag with hydrocodone, steroids, and muscle relaxants... at least no cialis yet.

Posts: 20229 Location: oswego, il | 51 had a big burly young guy in amazement as I was one arm underhand pitching a hard head and not the smallest one like you see bass guys pitching their baits around docks. With that said my left hip wakes my ass up every night. Edited by ToddM 7/9/2015 5:43 AM

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | 29 here. Caught my first muskie around 20 years ago on a bass spinnerbait. Been after them seriously for 8 or 9 years now I suppose. Many days I feel like I'm still getting started and don't know anything! I wonder if that feeling will ever change.

Location: varies | I'm getting old, look and feel older. I'm behind on that wisdom thing and have accrued many years of bad/ stubborn fishing habits. I am however, wise enough to know I won't be changing them.

It won't, but in a few years you won't care that you don't know anything, you'll just be happy to be alive and out fishing.

Posts: 462 Location: Syracuse, Indiana | Polling the age of muskie anglers, or the age of M1st users? The older I get, the more I realize muskie fishing is largely a young man's game. Caveat: muskie anglers must be able to afford the game, which generally bumps the age somewhat.

Posts: 393 | I am 65 and going strong. Fortunate to have fished for muskies over 40 years. The reels we have today and 9 foot poles allow me to fish hard all day.
