| Original floating Rapala in orange and green. I use the vampire colour and find it to be one of my top produces for crank baits but no luck with the orange or green. |

Proven lures that work great for other people but not for me are:
1. Any jointed crankbait
2. Bulldawg or other soft plastic
3. Swim Baits (Jigs&Creatures)
4. Jackpot
5. Globe
6. Sledge
7. Boogerman Buzz
8. Super Shad Rap
9. Big Fork Pulsator
10. Sloppee Pig
I know these baits catch fish... as I've personally seen many of them produce fish for buddies (probably why I purchased them). But, these are a few of the lures that adorn my "wall of shame" in the workshop.

I have to give a second vote for the Suick.
I have tried and tried to get a fish on one since it is a classic lure, but nothing. Not even a Green Carp (Bass). |

I'll add a Jackpot to the list too. I've had a bunch of fish blow up on it but I don't think I've ever boated a fish on one.

| Jake, without a doubt. Only fish that I ever caught on a Jake was about 18" long.

2. Reef Hawg - inabilty to work the bait like "I" think it should look. Gonna give it more time this year
3.Bobby Bait - Less confidence than I have with the suick
I see a theme here. Is it because I love crankbaits?!?
For all you Jake/Grandma haters: I use to hate them too until I learned the "right" way to work them. Now it's one of my favorite baits. |

| My choice to respond to the question is.....Hellraisers. I have two that I've almost never ever thrown because I've never felt I knew how to work them right.
Send me those suicks! I used to feel like you guys, but started asking for guidance. Rollie gave me a bunch of tips and now I've got it downtown like a clown. One of the most important lessons for me - only about 1 in 10 suicks works well right out of the package. Of the remaining 9, I might be able to tune 2 more to catch fish. The rest are best used as wall hangings. My one suick, Loose Lucy, has a death wobble that you wouldn't believe. |

| I"m not knocking you Ranger, but maybe it's because i live in "new musky land", but i never knew Hellraisers were classic or proven baits...never really heard too much hussle about them... |

Location: Appleton, WI | My baits would be the reef hawg also. I have fish pop it, but unfortunately I'm missing the dirty suckas. But despite the poor track record with hookups on the hawg, I've seen my largest fish to date on a Black Perch reefhawg. So I'll keep on throwing it.
I've yet to hook up with a fish on a Ernie. I can't recall a follow on an Ernie also. But I'll still keep on tossing it.
I've popped more fish on Bobbies and Suicks than any other jerkbait. Last year in Canada I had to beat them away from the Bobbie.

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | The first fish I every saw was on a Bobbie back in 82'. It came right out of the water when I pulled the bait up, hit the side of the aluminum boat, looked me in the eye, I crapped my pants and I missed the hook set. That was my first day musky fishing and I've been hooked ever since. However, I have yet to catch a fish on a Bobbie. I think it is because the Suick works so great for me that I don't throw a Bobbie anymore.
Another bait I have not even seen a fish on and have fished many, many times is the old original jointed Grandma. I just can't figure it out either, because the baits looks so good in the water.

| Gotta be Bucher's jointed shallow raider. I bought a couple in crappie and silver shiner a few years ago. Twitched the crappie over the weed beds when the crappies were in, nada. Trolled the shiner when we were hammering 'em on silver Jakes and Grannies, nada. Boy do they look awesome, though. I do quite well on Depthraiders and Baby Depthraiders but their shallow cousin just does not produce for me. HipHop...
