Been catching a few questions from different sides asking if we are still on for these events....answer is an ENTHUSIASTIC YES!!!
Here are some updates:

MatchFISHING: sign-up will be May 10th, first 32 teams are in, then the next number are alternates or will be taken in the case that a team from the 32 has to drop out.
-still debating the time frame, taking opinions to mind, cant say exactly the ruling yet.
-the first 32 are in, seeding within the pools will be determined by pulling from a hat.
-June 1st pool play begins.

Old vs. Young Petenwell Flowage Geritol/Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Sponsored Shoot-Out: still on, Petenwell Flowage, July 12th, early start.
-rules will be determined
-time and exact launch/food (during/after) locations to be worked out before hand.

Thats all for now, just wanted you all to know that these things are still on!

I see chef Boy-R-Dee is in the kitchen again!:O Good idea to wait 'til the Jrs. are through final exams and out of school. Try and see how many of the Pepsi Generation will be vacationing w/ their families though, as not to have conflicting schedules! :O:O:O...

At 42 years old looks like I will be fishing with the vets. I hope this date will not be the some time as any large tournies, like a WMT or something like that. PMTT is the weekend after.

I think there are some tourneys that weekend. M1 is fishing one, and I will be doing a 2 day tourney that weekend. Besides, it's my birfday that weekend, and as much as I love Slamr, there's no way I'm spending that day kicking his butt all over the Pete!

Sorry, but if the date don't change, I don't get to be on the winning team!

Teck,

You are not old. Yopu are a young/old guy. Old is now over 85. You have at least 25 years left in you to catch muskies. Let's kick some young'un fanny!!

At the ripe old age of 24, looks like I will have to put another beat down on the older generation.

Ralphie, want to fish together?

Mike: remember we are dealing with the elderly, they may not know the definition of the term "beat down"....but they will!

*and if you need to, you can crash at my place the night before cause this is a one day deal, and a hell of a ride-n-fish-n-ride from Hicktown, Ohio.

Wanted to bring this up to the top with some info from the MuskieMedic (who has been workin hard to coordinate this, thanks MM!):

Here it is, the young vs. old, dated vs. fresh, call it what you want...the time has come to see who will walk away with bragging rights. The event will be held on the Petenwell Flowage, 23,000 acres of muskie water waiting to be cracked. The event will be held on July 12th 2003, launching from Petenwell County Park on the east side of the lake. The park offers an excellent launch, boat slips, 500 or so campsites with showers and many other things to make it a good place to hold this event. Currently I am still waiting to hear back about the status of a shelter for Muskiefirst to use for meeting and holding a cookout. Please watch this thread closely for final details to come about times and specifics. Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] for information about the area.

Can't wait!!!Vermilion one week and the Pete the next. I've got some inside info that there may be a film crew from a new fishing show to capture the moment the Young Guns beat on the Old Folks that have taught us everything we know!Still in the works , but becoming more of a reality every day.Do we have line ups yet?Oh yeah , I may be the worlds greatest Carp snagger! We should have a side deal for the largest carp.Maybe not. Petenwell could very possibly be the home of the next 50lb. musky in WI, IF Du Bay doesn't put one out first. Awful lot of food and sanctuary on that lake.

Slamr, I think some are close to the cutoff line in the age group that they don't want to talk stupid and end up on the other side. You on the other hand will talk until your finger bleed, then take your beating like a good boy on the water. I will take you down like I did before, oh ya you bowed out with a forfit after all that smack you posted about the match fishing contest last year. Let the games begin.

Lodging for Old vs. Young Outing

For those of you interested in camping at the Petenwell Park here is some info that will help you, I suggest you make reservations soon.

Petenwell Park Campsites:

Campers $12.00 night no electricity, $17.00 with electricity.
Tents $11.00 night no electricity, $14.00 with electricity.
There are weekly rates as well for those who plan to stay awhile. The number to reserve campsites is 608-339-4230.

There are many hotels and motels in either Wisconsin Rapids or Stevens Point/Plover with reasonable rates as well. Wisconsin Rapids is about 20 minutes closer to the park than Stevens Point/Plover.

Boat slips for rental at the park are $12.00 per day for non-campers $6.00 for registered campers. Everything including campsites is first come first serve.

More details to follow on food, rules, and whatnot soon. I have good maps and details about the park and local area if you are interested as well.

For all you techno-weenies the GPS coordinates for the boat landing are as follows. N44 07.245 W89 57.404

Slamr can talk all the trash he wants. He won't get to me, because I know, as well as M1 knows, that he finalized the date AFTER he knew we couldn't be there to kick his diapered a$$! He was scared, and did eveything he could to try to swing this in his favor. First he picked a date the M1 and I couldn't be there. Then, he switched the age from 35 to 40, but only after he found out Jenkins and Florio were just a tad over 35.

Don't matter what he does, the yougans will still get whupped. Kick some young behind Extreme One, Worrall, Teck, Don! Slamr, you keep shifting the rules in your favor, you'll have everybody fishing against Worrall, and you'll still get beat!

There are no youngsters that can out fish me and the other old timers. The Old Guard will crush the Diaper Brigade. There are no young muskie fishermen that can catch fish. We will sourround Petenwell with only the best fishermen. All you young guys are liars. You have rowboats that will be swamped by the great, fast boats of the Old Guard. You will be humiliated in your feeble attempt to try to catch muskies on this day. Surrender now, or be preapred to have your clocks cleaned. I will hand you your butts all alone. You are defeated before you even begin.
