Posts: 32934 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Zach and I have been working on a section for the site that is chock full of questions and the best answers we can find on every facet of Muskie fishing we can imagine. If you were to have only one question about muskies and muskie fishing and be able to get the answer in a few seconds, what would that question be? Post ONLY questions to this thread, no answers yet, please!! Here is the deal: We will give away a MuskieFIRST Sweatshirt and T shirt in a drawing from all the folks who post to this thread. We will close the thread when we hit 50 questions, and open another with another sweatshirt awarded. Silly questions or questions that don't apply will be deleted, and won't count.

Posts: 5874 | Coool. Kinda like an FAQ on Muskie Fishing. Let's see. I think the first question I ever asked was, which lure would one start out with? Bucktail, Crankbait, Topwater, Spinnerbait, Jerk Bait?

Posts: 2754 Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Steve- Great idea- What are the GPS coords for that sow on the Goon? Seriously- If you were just starting what rod & reel combo would you recommend (limited to just one rod in the boat)? Best value price versus performance? Price no object, just pure performance?

Posts: 16 | I am new to muskie fishing and have just purchased most of my initial gear. I have made two trips to Lake Kincaid (So. illinois) and have gotten lucky, one fish on that I lost (first trip) then caught a 40" fish my second time out (agian, beginners luck). Now my question -- How do I determine where and how to fish a lake I have never been on before? Any trip I make will be to a lake I have never fished. I am looking for good tips on how to better my odds and to stay away from dead water. Chief Edited by Fordjk 4/14/2003 9:38 PM

Location: Athens, Ohio | Really, how many casts, how many trips..... No, even better: What are the primary structure features to look for on a lake that increase your chances of finding muskies? What are the primary types of baits that a novice should stock in the tackle box? Good thread, thanks, m
