Location: Oconto Falls, WI | A couple of my favorites:
Like Will – “Find the Baitfish and you’ll find muskies” – and the flipside of “If there are no baitfish there will be no muskies”.
Perhaps the one that takes the cake for me is: “Fishing for suspended muskies is like looking for a needle in the haystack”. Usually said by those who have not attempted it, or have not been successful at it!
Another is “The north end of the lake is the best in spring”. I have way to much success on the south ends of lakes early in the year. Poor fish just don’t know that the water is 3° warmer several hundered yards, or several miles, away!

Location: Oconto Falls, WI | Another favorite is "It doesn't pay to get out early in the fall"! I love this one simply because it gives me a lot of lakes to myself in the fall, and I can smile when guys say it was a tough day. Little did they know the bite happened prior to them getting on the water. |

Location: Muskegon Michigan | How about "when its a clear bluebird day its time to go home"? W e got every one of our 50 inch plus fish on clear bluebird days.
Another one, "Bright lures for bright days"? Not true. Every fish we caught on bright days fishing clear waters came on dull browns and tans. Natural colors like tan perch, Olive frog and Chocolate brown perch patterns.
"Speed is the most important variable in presenting a lure". Wrong. Though it might apply to some lure types action is the most important variable in Crank baits. Every Crank bait has its own magic speed in where it hunts for stability and exhibits a panic like action that triggers fish to eat it.
