Location: Delavan, WI | I will be vacationing in the Bemidji area in 3 weeks and could use some advice from the locals- i would like to have the bunks on my Ranger trailer re carpeted while I have the boat in the water - seems to be the best time to have it done since boat will be in the water for a week. I am a mechanic and although its something that I can probably do myself I really dont want to sacrifice precious fishing time to do so while on vacation- I will be ordering the carpet and all necessary hardware ( brackets nuts and bolts) right from Ranger, so I am mainly looking for suggestions and possibly an idea of what it may cost from someone else that had this done in the past on where to take it (dont really want to drive more than 45 min 1 way unless absolutely necessary) any and all suggestions much appreciated |

I would think if you are in Bemidji proper, you could take the trailer to corner sports, which is a ranger dealer as well...

Location: MN | I've had axle work done by the Carquest there in town but doubt they do bunkwork. Do me a favor and post back after your trip who you used, as I will eventually need to do the same. |

Location: Delavan, WI | called corner sports today and they didnt seem too enthused about doing it- seems like small potatoes to them perhaps- too busy with motor work i was told -even though its in 3weeks and i can leave it with them for a week so i will just keep lookin i guess

Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan! | for what it takes to re-carpet the bunks once you have everything needed will about equal the time it will take to drop the trailer off and pick it up again. Plus if you buy the bunk carpeting you will save some $. Or over cocktails at the cabin do one bunk a night. |

Location: Delavan, WI | Ok here is the update - I talked with Dave at Bemidji Marina looks like they will be doing it for me- and Jakejusa, i would do it myself, but the nuts on the bottom of the bunks are super rusty and will need to be removed either with a sawzall or cut off wheel - Im sure the resort owners and guests will not appreciate a bunch of noise and grinding while they are trying to relax either, and at last that kind of work is what i do a lot of in my field, and for what its worth just doesnt seem apropriate for my vacation |

| Probably to late to post but: I just replaced the my bunks and it took me about 20 to 30 minutes. I ordered new brackets, hardware, and carpet from Ranger. The I bought weather treated 2x6's from home depot. I pre made all new bunks and it took me about 20-30 min to replace them all at the boat landing. I sank the bracket bolts in the 2x6's about 1/8 to 1/4 inch and then carpeted over them. It seemed easier for me to build all new bunks since I had to replace my rusted out brackets anyway. So I built them at home and put them on at the launch. Really took less time than I thought.
