| Got out on the ky river today but mostly fished the 3 rivers that run into it. The water was a little stained but not to bad . I was throwing a pink grandma and a black and orange top raider without a follow. I was throwing to every lay down and rocky area I could find, Is the type of cover I should be targeting? Any tips I would be appreciated greatly. |

| I'd suggest throwing a bucktail of one type or another to first locate fish. Once you know what structure they are relating to, then you can approach them with other baits. Bucktails are notoriously good at catching interest, and catching fish. You can fish them fast and cover a lot of water. Generally though you want to look for structure, break lines, and forage. Find the forage and muskies won't be far from it. Steep drops in depth, weed lines, boulders, any structure you can find. Sometimes for example, structure can be very subtle. I read on St. Clair, the fish could be relating to a 1 foot difference in depth. A few scattered rocks. A small patch of weeds. Find the fish with a bucktail, then find the structure pattern. |

| Thanks for the responses I have to pick up a few bucktails I'm getting me a new rod and reel just for them so km excited about that. I guess I'm always grabbing the grandmas cause I've had my best success off them. |

| I forgot to mention in my post there is an area where the 2 of the rivers run into the big river and it causes a big eddy right in the middle about 30 yards from each river mouth would this be a good spot? |

| Yeah I'd work that spot over with all sorts of lures, starting large and aggressive and then working my way to subtler presentations. Something ought to be there. |

Location: oswego, il | Well if its your first time you need to put in your time. Time of year, water levels, current flow can change where fish may be located and what types of structure they will use. On top of this, rivers can change a bit from season to season. Take some time and learn it.
