| Hello,
I just started messing around this winter carving baits and painting them.
I just finished up the first handful and im not impressed with the finish coat that I applied. I used a minwax polyurethane and brushed on 4 layers over the course of a few days, Its not even close to the finishes I see you guys have on your lures.
Am I using the right stuff, help/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

| Get a cheap (grill) rotisserie n build a drying rack. The coating won't dry evenly without one. |

Location: Moses Lake, WA | I'm using EX88 two part epoxy. When I first started out I tried polyurethanes, polyacrylics, shellacs, the whole 9 yards. I finaly wound up with two part epoxy. |

Location: Almost Heaven | If you don't want to or don't have a drying rack then get some Devcon 2 30 minute epoxy. Mix it and brush it on and take a heat gun to help it flow out and remove any bubbles. Use a small pair of vise grips attached to the screw eye to hold the bait. Turn the bait for about 10 minutes or so and then you can hang it up. Work time for the epoxy is about 5 to 7 minutes once you mix it. This makes a good top coat until you decide to get into more bait making. |

| Where do you purchase the EX88 two part epoxy, I found it on a search on the internet but cannot find it for purchase?? |

Location: Moses Lake, WA | I got my EX88 several years ago on store.creative-wholesale.com. It's currently on sale for around $110 for 2 gallons. Shipping will cost another $30 or so. |

| I went to Home Depot and got the epoxy mix they use on bar table tops. Was around 25-30 dollars, can't remember. But I've been using it for 4 years now and love it and it should last you quite a while. Also for a drying rack, went to Sears and got a rotisserie kit for a grill for 35 dollars. |
