Posts: 532 | I have been tweaking the pattern around some for about a month or so, I am finally getting it to where I like how it looks. So here it is, my "Musky" Soft Tailed 8" Raptor. I have been gradually switching over to automotive paints, and very soon I will be painting strictly with Auto. Everyone has an opinion on which paint is the best... I found that I really like automotive paint, fast drying, easy to use, easier to clean, the effects the paint can do. I wish I changed sooner. I know the paint I used is not a true "color shift", but the amount of shifting of shades is pretty awesome, at least I think. Check out the difference in just changing the angle in the fluorescent light, in natural sunlight its ever more drastic. ![]()

Posts: 1202 Location: Money, PA | Looks pretty good Andy. Theres pros and cons to water based and auto for sure...when I first started painting, the createx could not compete with the automotive metallics; however the newer auto air metallics with reducer is darn close and improved immensely. For me, the big thing is proper ventillation of autos and the nasty smells...I watched Dale paint for years with the big incomfortable respirators and breathing those fumes is not for me. On the other side, its nice how it quickly dries and layers. And the crispness of it is hard to match. I have learned to manipulate the water based to my liking pretty well and I like the fact that most all the paints except for the new gold and silver do not require any reducers. So I guess its all what you get used to and feel comfortable spraying...

Posts: 615 Location: Madison, WI | Love it. I still have to reduce all my createx paints...im interested in needle size, pressure, gun used in order to not reduce. I usually have to thin 60/40 especially for metallics and pearls. Great stuff MS
