Location: Big Falls MN | Has anybody had any problems with the split rings on the big one. i have only caught 3 fish on the bait and they pulled apart so i need to replace them what should i go with for better rings? |

| I have not had issues but sometime you get a bad ring...sadly I know this all too well. I would upgrade to Bucher's, the Thorne Brothers Rings or Wolverines...All three are great option... |

If the split rings you use are good, there should be no physical way possible to put enough pressure on the fish to make them fail. Using anything that is weak that connects you to the fish (split rings, snaps, thin fluoro leaders, hooks, etc) will most likely result in a lost big fish eventually. |

| I believe they are Owner Hyper-wire. Very good rings. I've had much larger open up on fish if they are leveraged the right way. Good thing you caught it before something bad happened. |

Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | Yep, just lost a very large fish due to this. Unfortunately the fish likely still has the back treble in its mouth. I've caught a bunch of fish on the lure, but this one got the right leverage and it pulled right open, it was still hanging on the lure, barely. Change em out! |

Location: Land of the Musky | The Worth rings are real good. I did a pull test once and when the double #7 rings got to about 175lb of pull they paper clipped and my pliers went through my sheet rock wall in the basement. I always try to use things that are stronger then my line I am fishing with. Then I know my line is the weak point and not a hook, ring, clasp, screw eye, etc... I use mainly 80# to 100# on everything. LOL even my walleye rod now has 30# PowerPro on it. |
