I would recommend either folbes or the Scotty Orca. Both have a grab and set the hook design that doesn't require you to lift the rod out. The folbes are nice but one thing bad about them is that the stem must be secured to the base with a latch and if you forget............the whole thing can go overboard. I have heard really good things about the Orcas.

I also run bulletproof rod holders...I happen to be good friends with the guy who used to make them talked to him 2 days ago in fact. If you like I could ask him if he has any left that are available. Otherwise I have also heard good things about Folbes and am also a fan of down east.

Down East is the only way to gofor rail mounts. Rock solid in all weather and very reasonable cost.

Well GUEST I would agree that down east are very solid but if you have never seen or run bulletproof holders than u r out of your frame of reference here!! Besides...just because you come on here and jack up down east rod holders do they send you free ones in the mail or something?? Like I said, if you want some bulletproof I can see if he will sell you some because I am sure he has extras, otherwise check out the other ones mentioned.
