Whats the hooking percentage on the big #13s like the super model and booty tails. the hooks seem a ways apart for a good hook up. Any tips on mybe adding another hook does or would it hurt anything by adding i hook half way in between.

you can put an extra hook inbetween the two beads in the middle. add a split ring to a hook and another split ring attached to that ring and attach to the wire shaft. then use a small ziptie around the split ring and shaft to keep it from sliding down. Idk i did that to a couple of mine cause i thought the same, but ive caught fish on some with out the extra hook...

IMO more hooks on a long bait like that and you're asking for trouble, just like when fish get hooked in the eye on the extra hooks on suicks and cranks and baits like that. hookup percentage is just as good as with a DCG for me, boatside or not.

I don't know about adding more hooks but I do change them out. 8/0 musky innovations larger gap, better hook ups and I catch 95% on the front hook. Don't see the need for one in the middle.

i build my own dc10s and 13s and originally started by using the MI wide gap 8/0. lost alot of fish. Switched to mustad 3551's 7/0 which is whats on cowgirls and have alot better hook ups. Just my observation. O2cents

If you can't get a hook up with that spacing, then the darn fish is too small. If you are fishing those things you'd better be looking for something big. If it can bite the bait between the hooks, trust me you don't want the fish. TOO SMALL!!!!

I would say that Mr. Cowgirl knows how to design a pretty good bucktail,.........Soooooo .....I would leave it as is. To many hooks on a large lure like this one will only do more damage to the fish.

Thanks for all the input. If it isnt broke dont fix it. I will also have to try the mustads.
