| I am looking into getting a better rain setup this year and was wondering if anyone had an opinion. I am leaning toward the BPS 100mph suit but am afraid in the warmer months it might get too hot. Does anyone have experience with this? |

Location: 15 miles east of Lake Kinkaid | If I were you....BPS 100MPH bibs are the best....bar none. But the coat is a little stiff for hours of figure 8ing....I would go with the BPS Pro Quailifier coat. I have the suit of the Pro Qualifier and I love it but...I have lots of friends with 100MPH. They all like my coat better because its a lighter material, but their bibs are the best. I wore the rainsuit in warm weather here in Carbondale in September and its about as cool as any rain suit that actually is waterproof. There are some rain suit that are cooler....but will leak after a few trips. I know quite a few guides who go with the Pro Qualifier Coat/100MPH bibs combo. Just my $.02 |

Location: Aurora, IL. | BPS 100 MPH and Cabelas Guidewear are arguably top of the line rain gear. I went with the Guidewear and am very pleased. Yes its heavy in the summer. I also keep a pair of frog togs in the boat as well for hot summer days. Frog togs are cheap and you need to recoat them every year but they come in handy on those hot sticky days.
Unfortunately very dry raingear means heavier material. If your set on the BPS100 get them and a pair of frog togs and forget about it.

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | I run the 100MPH the most. When it's really warm I run Frog Toggs and when it's really cold I have my Ice Armor. The 100mph give you the most range of weather of all the suits I've tried and they stand up. I've been running the same suit for the past 8 years and it still works great. |

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Cabelas Guidewear for me. You can take the inside out of the jacket and it's great for the cool rain in Spring, Summer or early Fall. Add the liner and it's good till it's ice armor time.
During the heat of the summer I have a light set from North face thats rocks.
Getting wet sucks. Do not cheap out on a rain suit. Get a good one and you will be set. Remember you can always add more cloths under the suit. So don't get one on the small side. |
