I know a lot of you guys fish really big water which requires special gear. Down here in my area of Maryland, all the Muskie (actually Tigers) lakes are electric only and range from 500 to 1500 acres. Because of this, I've had to adapt to a smaller boat, electic motors and batteries. I carry exactly what I need and no more.

Wondering if any of you guys have similar places to fish and what you use for gear? Thanks, Tom [:praise:]

Muskiekid you'd feel at home in the twin cities,,We have nice muskie lakes right in downtown Minneapolis and St Paul that produce numerous 50 inch fish that are electrics only,,most of them are between 200-400 acres,,some have pure strains and some have tigers,,There great because no jet skiers, water skiers, also Ive had muskie guys tell me that when they go fishing they 'have' to hear their big engine so it keeps the pressure down too,,And the scenery is GREAT,,our city lakes are popular with young girls in spandex and swimsuits that rollerblade around lake, god knows how many follows Ive missed because I was looking elsewhere.[] []

Happy Hooker, god knows how many follows you missed with your rod in one hand and a slice of pizza in the other![:)]

I used to fish some electric motor lakes when I was yournger and had my first boat. They were not musky lakes but make sure you have a good battery and a set of oars in case of a strong wind. I would also not load down the boat. Good luck.

My favorite lake is not an electric only, but the whole lake IS a no wake zone with a 3 mph speed limit, which is nice because it's only 53 acres. Worst thing I,ve ever had to deal with (Other than rude fishermen cutting me off or anchoring on the best spot in the lake and dropping botttles in their aluminum boat etc..) was two little old ladies that came out to see if we wanted some lemonade. They said it was so hot and we'd been out there for a long time, and they thought we might be thirsty.

Thanks for the info. Now that I've hear these ideas, I realize there's one thing I must get if I ever fish up in the Twin Cities area. A good pair of BINOCULARS!! [:sun:]
- Am I hot or not?

What? Me check out the young ladies? Never![;)] []

I did see a pontoon full of bikini clad college hotties once that offered us some cold beers. Before I could even respond, my wifes face flashed in front of me.[:blackeye:]and I had to decline the offer. Probably a good thing. Don't think I would have got too much fishing done for the rest of the day.[:((]
