I mean, will musky become sick if they bite a lure that has not been sealed in epoxy?

I'd love to know...

You seen them skinny looking pale WI fish? Them Sconnie boys keep paintin their lures with krylon we're not gonna have any fish left. Stuff eats the spots right off 'em! Thank God the MN lure manufacturers use envirotex, or Mile Lacs would be a catfish pond.

I think the hooks are probably a little more harmfull. You could always paint a piece of wood with cheap paint, chew on it for a week, and do your own "hands on" test and let us know the results. LOL (Besides, what do you think they were using to paint lures with before envirotex became so popular?)

I usually keep some burned toast and castor oil in the boat in case a fish mistakenly ingests the paint of my blades. By mixing those two ingredients one can induce vomiting, thereby extracting aforesaid harmful product.
