Ok all you basement tackle manufacturers, what knot do I use to tie this flexible wire. I tried the Berkley knot, but I end up with something that looks like a slinky.

I want to tie the leader material to the swivel, then crimp the tag end.

I am using 60# bronse Sevenstrand....I had the same trouble with the Tyger leader material.

Thanks in advance

On my 7 stranded leaders I twist them the same way as the single strand and them put a couple of coats of super glue on the wrap's to keep them from unwinding. Then you can heat shrink tube over the wrap's to make them look nice.

Try this. This is what I use for 7 strand QS rigs.

Use the leader sleeves. I have used them for 20 years without a single failure.[] [:0]

Where is the best place to get those leader sleeves or the shrink sleeves?

as the original owner of wolverine tackle company, i tied a few zillion big bite sucker rigs, using the knot you're talking about. never had a problem with it breaking or coming undone- bad news is, i couldn't even begin to tell you how to tie it unless you were here to see it firsthand. not that it's that bad to learn, but it's one of those 'gotta see it' deals. my advice is go to one of your better musky shops near you, chances are someone there should be able to help you- thats how i learned, from sean bermingham many moons ago at american fishing store...
good luck!

Can buy the leader sleeves at Gander, Rollie and Helen's, Fleet Farm, or about anywhere where leader material is sold. The Leader Material package will list the sleeve size. I use a pair of linesman's pliers to crimp the sleve.
