Hey, anyone know anything about TuffShad baits? I saw some in a bait shop near Salt Fork, Ohio; the baits are made in Parkersburg, W.Va. (home of the infamous Hughes River bait co.) and the box gave an e-mail address at [email protected]. The store owner said he's having trouble keeping them in stock, I'd like to hear some opinions before I invest another $12-15. thanks, m[]

Mikie, the tuff shads were a real hot bait last year in ohio. I've heard nothing but good things about them, have two myself, haven't had much of a chance to try them yet.

Tom! Thanks, maybe I'll make an 'investment'. Went back to Salt Fork Saturday with Jon; tried for crappies but not much luck, ended up with a walleye about the same spot that samll bass hit me, so at least we saved dinner. How's your luck going? We'll be tied up this weekend with family stuff, then just 2 more weeks till I hit the Cave again. best wishes, mm[]

Tuff Shads have been great producing lures in Ohio last year. Bill Andresky boated a 47 incher this past weekend on a Tuff Shad. You can check out the Tuff Shad web site at http://tuffshad.tripod.com/tuffshadlures/ . You can also order some of the Tuff Shads in Stan Durst's custom colors directly from Stan at http://www.durstproducts.com/

Tom, are you fishing the chapter challunge this weekend at Salt Fork? We will be there...camping in the park. Everyone is planning on camping in Loop A. Check out our chapter's message board for more details. Maybe see you there...

I have been fishing the tuffs for the past 2 years, and i have did good with them. So far this year, my boat has landed several mid-30's and a 48 X 24.

I fish most of my time in KY and Ohio, and I am usually using a lil ernie or tuff when trolling. I have seen days where the only the tuffs would get ate and nothing on the ernies. It has a different wiggle that catches fish and bigguns[:praise:]

Tom, Good luck with the gobblers and at Stonewall. We will have to hook up sometime and give that lake the once over. Let me know about a trip to Dunkard too...still want to work that over as well. Check out our Muskies Online message board for the tournament results...feel free to post how you Stonewall treated you.

I got a couple of the 5" ones from Stan Durst. They are in his custom perch color. They are so pretty all I want to do is must look at them. Stan's still advertising them on his site. I believe his prices are very reasonable. Well made lures. I believe they are cedar.
