| I don't know if I should have posted this here or in the boats and motors section, but if it's not the right place, I'm sure it'll be moved (I hope). Well, anyway, I picked up my new boat on Friday from Action Marine in Burlington, a truly great dealership to do business with. If you're thinking about getting a new fishing boat, especially a glass boat, I'd suggest going to Action Marine and checking out the line of Cobra boats. I liked my ProCraft, but I wanted something with bigger decks and more storage than my last boat had. When you're out with novice muskie anglers, more deck space is a good thing and you can never have too much storage. Also, I'm something of a performance freak, so this fills the need as well. The boat is a Cobra Coosa 216 by Viper Boats. It's 21'6" glass, dual console bass boat with a 97" beam, with more storage than you can shake a stick at! It comes fully rigged, 36 volt trolling motor system, 3 bank on board charger, dual livewells, a rod locker that'll take rods up to 8' with a 15 rod organizer, on a tandem axle King Cobra trailer with independant suspension and disc brakes. It's powered by a Mercury 250 XB outboard on an 8" setback manual jackplate. I'm going to replace it with a 10" setback hydraulic jackplate, add a hotfoot and steering wheel trim/tilt. The boat is white with black metalflake accent trim. The boat performs and handles as good as it looks. If you're curious about what it looks like, you can see it at http://www.viperboatsinc.com . If you see me out on the waters in the Rhinelander, Tomahawk or Eagle River area, ease on over and say hi! Steve @ G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods. http://www.herefishyfishy.com | |||

| Steve, Congrads,sounds like one fast rig as well!I hope your new boat gets you to many Big One's for 2002! Capt. Larry | |||

| Steve how do i install the front nav. light, i can't figure out how it works. Chad | |||
| |||
| Hi Chad, Remember that little silver disc trim piece in the glove box that I showed you where it came from? That black piece simply flips up and the nav light slips in. You should see a little bump and a seam where it separates. Bingo, you're traveling after dark. Oh yeah, I sent you the title and other forms, did you mail the PinPoint cables and transducer? | Thanks Larry, Many big ones to you too! I don't normally go "balls out", but it is kind of fun to know that once the motor is broken in, I should be able to break 80 mph! I seriously doubt though that I'll go much past 55-60 too often. But every once in a while, when conditions are right.......... [:bigsmile:] The main reason I got the boat was for the roominess and storage. At least that's what I told my wife! Steve @ G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods. http://www.herefishyfishy.com | |||

| Steve, Does this mean you finally sold the ProCraft? I know you've been trying to for awhile now. Rob | |||
| |||
| Yes, Chad from the group here is now the proud owner of "The Mighty ProCraft"! He's got a good boat with lots of muskie experience. There's been 251 muskies in the boat since I got it in 2000, all of them released. Actually, while I did have it for sale for a while, I wasn't really trying too hard to get rid of it. If I remember correctly, I only listed it on one or two websites. It's a good boat that I would have been quite happy with, but my partner was in the market for a new boat and we got a GREAT package deal. Besides, that 80 mph barrier was one that I wanted to break before I got too old to want to! [;)] Hey, as long as I'm kind of on the subject, Gil is selling his Tuffy Marauder. It's an 84/85 (?), 17' with a 40 hp Mariner (tiller), stainless steel prop, 24 volt MinnKota with AutoPilot, an Eagle and Raytheon locator, on a K-Dee launcher trailer. He's asking $3,000 or best offer. This boat has been used a lot, but he's taken really good care of it. It'd be a great intro to muskie fishing boat. Call 715-367-0140 or e-mail [email protected] for more info. Rob, so when are we going fishing? Steve @ G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods. http://www.herefishyfishy.com | |||
