I was thinking about working on some baits for the first time in a year and want to try some thru wire - anyone know a good source for .062 wire?

If you have a local welding supply shop, they are usually a great source for .045 or .062 stainless steel wire. Most sell it by the pound in 36" pre-straightened lengths.

Working with .062 is about as much fun as slapping your grandma. It's what you have to have if you want a big bait though. Moores does have the .062. I like their fast turn around on orders.

Thanks guys - I looked all over but couldn't find it. Guess I should have checked out Moore's as well.

Stamina also sells pre straightened .062 stainless wire in 18" lengths.

If you think .062 is bad try .078 spring temper. That is what we use on the Deepthreats. I even form the belly hook holders out the stuff. I buy 25 to 50 lbs at a time from Interwire corporation. they have 75 dollar minimum. I also use .057 for our new small shad baits. Kingfisher
