I have to tell you this story.....wacked out animal lovers brought it to mind.
Yesterday morning, here in my home town, a rooming house caught fire. Unfortunately, one of the occupants didn't make it out alive.
I work for the water dept, and we went up to the site just in case any hydrants weren't working.
The place was fully engulfed in the top 2 floors, flames and smoke pouring out everywhere.
Well, some lady was running around half wacked out because the firemen that were dousing the place with water were knocking cats off the window sills and back into the building. "Go save those cats!" she was yelling as these guys were trying to put out or at least control the blaze. The hell with the people inside, or the buildings next door....save the freakin' cats!!!
I had to bite my tongue to keep from offering her the use of the ladder on our truck.
Maybe PETA should have emergency response teams that report to fire scenes to save the kittys.
Sometimes I just don't get it.

Beaver,
I have been a firefighter for 11 years now. In that time we have had a couple of legitimate "saves" of people from burning buildings. They have never come close to getting the publicity that one of our members did by saving a few cats from a house fire one night. His crew did CPR on a couple of them (yes there is such a thing as cat CPR) and brought them back to life. The story literly went around the world. He has recieved correspondence and congratulations from almost every part of the world. I guess there are cat lovers everywhere!

I'm with you.........I don't get it!!!!!!!! [:((]

I don't want to run the risk of sounding demented[] , but all I could think of today was what a cool video game it could be. "Cat Blast 2002". How many can you knock back in the window? The ones that you miss come and attack you.
9 lives my A$$![:knockout:]
Boy, am I gonna hear it now.

Not to worry dude...everyone here knows we like animals of all kinds...+ that we would do what we could to help one in need...that is why I'm not entering the kitten toss event this May![;)]
* Ever wonder how they got the word "CAT-A-Pult"?[:0]

OK, last Thursday I'm in Columbus for a meeting and decide to spend my lunch hour on the statehouse lawn. Didn't plan on the entertainment: a dozen PETA people lined up behind a lady dressed in a cat-type body suit and hunkered down in dog cage with signs saying "Wild animals should not be caged". Three local TV stations have cameras trained on the scene. Now, here I am regretting that I emptied my bladder before leaving the building! Piss on PETA! m[]
