| It was 32 years ago, my mother called me on the phone and said her neighbor/ my friend was lost at sea. The Fitzgerald was missing on the big lake.

| I just heard that song for the first time a couple of weeks ago and everytime I hear it it gives me the chills. I don't think it could have been done any better. Here's another versison with some pretty neat pictures.

| i was on lake st clair duck hunting. in all my years to this day i have never seen a lake flop. we started in 1 1/2 foot of water. after our hide tipped the waters were over the catails a 5 ft increase. the gale was the worst ive seen. 2 hunters died and then the fitzgerald went down.. yes that song is a very chilling reminder. water rules gents |

| Hadn't heard the song in awhile. Really brings up some memories and when put with the pictures -- Wow it is quite an emotional song -- and Yes we will never know what they experienced that day. Great song . awesome lake that gets my respect every time I see it. |

Location: Cave Run Lake KY. | We were hunting ducks out of Ashland Wi. on the Bad River Slough, near Odanah. Nice morning lots of ducks ,then it started to rain and turned to ice my 14 ft. alumacraft iced over and we pulled the blocks and got out of there. I headed back to Hayward in a snow storm to drop my boat off at my Summer home on spider lake. The snow ended south of Ladysmith and it was clear to Milwaukee, the next day I found out about the Edmund Fitzgerald. To this day I remember it like yesterday. Marv. |

| Over the years, more than a thousand sailors have lost their lives in Great Lakes shipwrecks. The boats hauled the materials that built our nation.
Thank you for posting this, so we may remember. The majority occured before our time.
In 1966, the freighter Daniel J Morrell sank in lake Huron. The lone survivor, Dennis Hale somtimes speaks at diving shows.
If he ever appears in your area, I would highly recomend hearing his tale. It was quite moving. |
