Location: ashtabula ohio | seems to be peeling after minimal use{baby depthraider} these are the older ones before roberts took over. does anyone know if the new ones hold up better or are painted differently? |

| never had a problem with them. have had a jointed one break after one fish but no paint problems |

Location: lansing, il | i have a reg size jointed depth raider that the clear coat has all but peeled off of it, with about a week and a half of on and off use last season. i was going to ship it back to them to get it fixed or replaced, but i got my biggest fish of the season on it, and a few other smaller ones, so i think im going to keep using it.

| I have no love for Joe Bucher but his lures catch fish. It doesn,t matter to the fish if some of the paint is missing. Most of the time paint jobs are for the fisherman.

Location: Holly, MI | I have an old worn out jointed believer that has most of the paint worn off and it produces fish great. The hooks are almost ready to wear through the plastic belly. I think it is almost time to hang it on the garage wall. Once it takes on water or I glue it I'm sure it will never be the same. |

| Being a lure builder myself, the only thing I would add is that you may find the action of the lure changes with the loss of the outer protection. Generally baits are sealed first and then coated with an outer epoxy to protect them. If the epoxy gives way as your bait has the wood will eventually begin to take up water which may very likely change the action significantly and reduce the life of the bait. If you really like the bait, I would mail it back and have it repaired.
