Posts: 827 Location: Minneapolis,Minnesota | Looking for a suggestion on a trolling crank that can be trolled at higher speeds (4-7mph) but will run in the top 5' of the water column. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Posts: 827 Location: Minneapolis,Minnesota | Mike, What I'm looking to do is troll a shallow reef that the weeds typically top out at 5' and the water is pretty clear. Ideally I would like to run a crank off the side on a planer board to keep it away from the boat. I've had a bit of success trolling over the reef with a big spinnerbait in the prop wash but I think if I can hit them on a stealth mission planer style I'll put a hurt on 'em. Speed seems to be key, and casting hasn't produced. I think I may check out those Wileys. Thanks.

Posts: 827 Location: Minneapolis,Minnesota | Mike, Yep, is a killer night spot. They love the snackpots and Topraiders in the evening but tournament hours aren't at night ![]() Tomcat, Thanks, those look cool. ![]()

I love trolling a non-troller with the 208 Cranes in a yellow belly perch but it will barley keep up at 5mph. At that speed it blows out once in a while but digs back in, I love that and think the skis do too. Get the spinnerbaits out on the boards also.

Try Sledges for speed trolling in the prop wash, and Jakes and Ernies work well short line trolling. How many lines can you have out during this tournament?
