The muskie world lost a good one. Brett was always hugely helpful when I pestered him with questions at Thorne Bros. Brain cancer is a tough way to go. My condolences to his friends and family. May you forever be at Crow Lake now.

Brett & his family will be in my prayers. I just wanted to mention, I only had the opportunity to chat with him at Thorne booth annually at chicago Muskie show. I always looked forward to those conversations, as you knew he was a humble, knowledgeable straight shooter, who would genuinely steer you to meet your needs. He was a class act.

Brett was the face of Thorne Brothers in his day. He was a buyer for them. He was also a bait builder, the Lowrider was a great topwater. He was also a great fisherman passionate about the sport of Muskie fishing. He was a good teacher and willing to share information. He had a tough road when diagnosed he wasn't expected to live past 2 years he made it over 5 and 1/2. Towards the end he would sometimes have trouble speaking and would have to gather himself but he never lost his sense of humor. He was able to attend last years Minneapolis Muskie Show and reconnect with lots of people. RIP Brett you will be missed.

Another one of the GOOD ONES gone. Brett attended my Fall Outing at Vermilion Dam Lodge for many of the past 21 years it has been held. He was always popular and helpful and he will be missed.
