I am searching for a new boat cover. I know I can call the boat company and have them order one for me, but I was wondering if any of you have ever bought a boat cover from somewhere else other than from the boat company.

I see a lot of sites on the net that sell them, but don't really like buying something without some kind of input. I don't want a thin cheap one, I want one that is going to last, and one that I can trailer.
I also want a custom fit, not a semi-custom fit.

Do any of you have any input, or places where I might look?

Thanks,
Mike Hulbert

Check local automotive upholsterers & tent/awning makers. They'll have the skills & tools, possibly even experience.

If you have to travel some distance, there's a shop in Hamilton, OH that specializes in custom boat covers.

What kind of boat is it for, a friend of mine had it done by a local guy and he fit it well to his Princecraft. Just wondering cause i can hook you up if you are interested.

Mike, you seen the boat cover on my dad's boat and you all commented on how cool it was. You live in and around amish communities, my dad's cover is amish made. I bet there is a place close that could do it.

MIke,

Since Tom and Steve live in IN why don't you look into "Coverite" in Buffalo, IN? They made my cover custom and you'd love it I'm sure. I wish I had a pic of it so you could see it. E-mail me if you want more info. They are a small family business with an incredible shop and will turn the job in a week easy. Lifetime guarantee on workmanship too. (depending  on the material you choose of course). I chose one step below "Shark Skin" which is the top of the line. Tight as a (fill in what you want).

I bought one off of Ebay for cheap. It works great and saved me about $300, If I had the money I would get a custom cover made. Good luck.
