Posts: 212 Location: Madison, WI | So... Were the fish biting before or after the spout? There was a video tape of the spout and a boat running fast on the local news here this morning.

Posts: 2091 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Very cool pic, we had a tornado warning in here in Portage County but it was determined that people were seeing "cold air" funnels that are not true tornadoes, but that spout is definately the real deal coming from that wall cloud.

| That would be a scary sight. I'm a private pilot and about 10 years ago I flew a Cessna 172 from Indiana to Pensacola, FL. I was about 30 miles out when I heard Pensacola approach telling another plane to make a turn to 180 degrees to get around that water spout out there. Well we had seen only one cloud all the way down and could see no clouds from where we were at. I looked at my buddy and said Water Spout? I thought that was a tornado in the water, what are they so calm about? Well it turned out this water spout came ashore from the gulf and as soon as it hit land disappeared. It was on the news next morning, quite a sight. Mark | |||

Posts: 19 Location: Oshkosh,WI | I was in awe and stopped the boat to take the pictures while my partner was wetting his pants and yelling at me to go faster!!!!! It was quite the site. We had a few spouts all at once drop out of the sky and then get sucked back upinto the clouds like it was never there. I have never seen rain go up before!!!! Troy
