| I'm going to be fishing Sabaskong Bay on LOTW in mid-July (staying at Duck Bay Lodge on Hay Island). I'll have a guide for the first day, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a "Hotspots" type of map for that area that actually has GPS coordinates marked on it, or if anyone has any advice for me regarding specific areas to hit, or types of structure at that time of year, etc. Any and all advice much appreciated. You are staying in a really nice area for big fish. Within 10 miles of where you are you can see all the nice size muskies you'll want. That said, in July, I would concentrate on reefs, saddles and areas with current. There are MANY reefs in the area, a lot of them are usually underwater and may or may not be on the map. If the very low water holds till July, you will be able to see a lot of these hidden reefs. You should still be able to find fish on them, although a little deeper. I prefer to use Swim wizzes, Buchertails, jerkbaits and especially Topraiders. If the weather is very warm, night fishing can be great. However, you better know the lake REALLY well during low water.

Location: Alsip, Il | Yes Hot Spots does make maps of Lake of The Woods with Gps coordinates. At that time of year think weeds first and then reefs. My go to lures would be Marv's spinnerbaits, jackpot, reefhawg and superraider. My best color for Marv's has been black with gold blades. The maps cost between $9.99 to $11.99. The navigational maps with buoys numbered on it is being changed they are in process of re-numbering the buoys or markers, so beware. LOW is one of the best places on earth to try for a thiry pounder but superlunkers are hard to find. Good Fishing, Al |

| Mike, the LOW Hotmap is a great reference but make sure you learn your routes with a Canadian hydrographic chart, what I mean is simply turn your GPS on then fold your map to a managable block and as your traveling use your thumb to plot you along, now you have created your route on your map and if you look at your GPS you will see the exact route you took, so when you are traveling back and forth from Duck Bay you can always steal a quick refernce glance at your GPS, but nothing and I do mean nothing replaces your paper map and your capabilitie to read it.
