Location: Central Wisconsin | I am looking for an 8'6"-9' rod with a full cork handle at least 16"-18", that is rated for up to 16oz baits and can still work lighter baits as well. If I could find a telescopic or two piece rod that would be more preferred, but will go with a one piece if that's all I can find. I know tackle industries has a rod that falls in this category but am looking for other options, and wanted to make sure I'm not overlooking some other choices. Thanks for any suggestions.

Location: Madison, WI | Chaos tackle assault stick Shock and Awe is capable of throwing big baits. To be honest though I have no personal experience trying to throw smaller stuff with it, but Im sure you can just fine. |

Location: Lake County Illinois | I really like my Okuma EVX Musky Telescopic 9'3'' XH its rated up to 16 oz but I throw just about everything with it,the only problem is it only comes in split grip now,but I have seen new ones still around with the full grip on Amazon or ebay, and im sure there are some full grips out there still. |

Location: Minneapolis, MN | Ok, just wanted to make sure you weren't planning to throw 1 oz lures.
For telescopic you're pretty much looking at a TI XXH, Okuma XXH, or Shimano Compre XXH. In the two piece market you'd probably want to look at a St. Croix Premier but they only go to an XH rated to 12oz so may end up not liking it if you're mainly going to throw pounders with it. |
