| Just out of curiousity, how many guide trips did you take out last year in 2002? Whether you are full-time or part time, I would like to know! I have heard some guides say that there numbers were down a little last year, maybe from the status of the economy and problems with the stock market!! [:knockout:] [:knockout:] Chad [email protected] | |||

| I had more trips last year then I had anticipated, but it was my first year of guiding so I didn't really know what to expect. I did very little advertising, most was on word of mouth and referrals from baitshops. | |||

| I had the grand idea I would open up my guiding business again last year, but ran out of time with all that I was doing. I guided a few days, and wished I had more time. This year, I am setting aside a set couple days each week for on the water time, and will book those days ahead. That should force me to get out there on the water![:0] | |||

| Hi Chad, I had the best year ever in my 14 years as a full time guide. I had 90 full day trips and 27 half days. I could have done another 20 to 30 dates if I wanted, but I also do some tournament fishing. I think with the slow republican economy, and the saftey issues in traveling these days, many people stayed home, instead of going to Canada. [:p] | |||

| My business is on the up and up, it was only my third year and I guided 75 days. I actualy am an entire year ahead of my predictions. [:p] I was hoping to be full time with 100+ days withing 5 years and I may do that many next year. As of 2003 I will have an extra month to guide as well so that may help me get some more days in. I know I could of had more business last year with a better economy but I am satisfied, I actualy only had one cancelation as well. Maybe the markets will go up this year and all my stock broker clients can come up for a visit or two. [:sun:] | |||

| Hey Richard, Wouldn't that be nice!! I just hope the stock market makes it back up! I was still happy with number of guiding trips I did last year, but it wasn't an increase from 2001, which I had planned on. Good luck this year!! Chad | |||

| 168 days -33 of wich were half days- Had 4 cancellations-2 of which rebooked for 2003- and one NO SHOW (ILL Find Him!!) Judging by tHe 2003 bookings so far Im seeing more of the recccesion affect this year- at least so far im 10% down. A lot of my book is filled by one very large Club so the base days are there, but still need to fill in the gaps to have a succssful year Guiding is evolving as more information and knowledge is dispursed among the general fishing population. Sites like Muskie First make this possible and its a good thing;however peoples expectations increase also and Wisconsins fishery is competing against Canada and Minnsota. I notice a marked lack of excitement over a nice 46" or 47" fish and often hear the comments like- nice fish but nothing like I got on LOW or Eagle. Im seeing guys whip out the jackpots at noon on Fence lake because its what worked up there.OH MYY!! Gotta love em! Its all good. I guess, But The pressure is definately on to bring something extra to the table.. at least in this State | |||
