| My buddy has a 97 Mercury 90 hp, and his power tilt won't pull the outboard up. Does anyone know how to manually tilt the motor? My evinrude has a screw on the left side to tilt, but I don't know much about the mercs. The switch will lower the motor, but won't raise it. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks. |

| Sounds dumb but has he checked the fluid level. A T/T unit low on fluid will lower but not raise. |

| I don't think so. He said it just clicks when he hits the button to trim up. |

| Sounds like a bad relay. Try switching them around and see if it will now raise the motor but not lower it. If it does, = bad relay. |

| Is there a fuse panel under the hood that the relays are in? Not real familiar with the merc motors. Thanks! |

Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | I believe they are located on the starboord side of the motor towards the rear and down low. |

Location: Sun Prairie, WI | on my 89 90hp mariner there is a bypass that you can unscrew to allow you to raise and lower the motor manually. It should be on one side or the other down by the bracket that holds the motor to the boat.

| Problem was with the relay. $15 fix, working well again. Thanks for the replies. |
