| Well, hunting season for warm blooded critters is in full swing (Ducks, deer, grouse, etc.) and I can't help but think how much easier musky "hunting" would be if they left tracks. How cool would that be to pull up to your favorite weedbed and be able to tell if muskies have been prowling through it lately or not????
Since there is no way of knowing where a musky HAS been without either catching her or getting her to follow.... solving the location factor is much more challenging. I'm beginning to think that musky fishing truly is the "ultimate" hunt. I'm sure there are some die-hard whitetail hunters who will disagree, but I just wanted to share this thought to ponder...... Muskies Don't Leave Tracks.

Ya know Jlong...I agree with you. I actually had this debate last weekend with buddy of mine who is a true trophy buck hunter and we ended the debate on a draw....Both are admirable pursuits that require thought,preparation, patience, perseverence, and a little luck...

| They do leave tracks. It’s those swirls they leave behind when you spook a big one off a spot. I hate it when that happens. Err; I guess it’s more like seeing the “flags” of some whitetails when you jump them. |

| I recently heard of a guy who swears he can SMELL when there's a big musky nearby. Not the farts, he smells the slime. I'm not so sure, but then I think that I can sometimes smell big deer. By the way, watching for fart bubbles won't work in the Menominee River as there's so much methane bubbling up from decay of organic debris. Little bubbles all over the place. |

| Hey they don't need to make tracks. Just get a couple of bloodhounds and put aqualungs on them and they will find them for you.[;)] |
