Location: WI | Haven't fished it since 7/7, but it was 81-83 around big island then. I know there's been some rain and mixing since then, but I can't imagine it's cooler after this heat wave. |

| 88-90 in the shallow small bays and 83-85 in the big bodies of water depending on where you are. Worse yet with no wind there is very little in the way of oxygenation. Some hard cold rain and wind could change things quickluy but right now it is a steam bath out there. |

| I measured water temperatures and dissolved oxygen concentrations down to below the thermocline on the west side of Tonka Saturday morning.
Surface water temperature was 82 degrees and surprisingly, water temperatures remained over 80 degrees down to near 18 feet. A very defined thermocline was set up around 20 feet as water temperature dropped to near 70 degrees directly below this depth.
Oxygen concentrations were around 6-8 mg/L above 18 feet but quickly dropped to below 2 mg/L (anoxic conditions) below the thermocline at 18-20 feet.
I'm sure there are areas of the lake that are more exposed to the wind and may have cooler water temperatures but based on advice from others who are far more experienced than me, these conditions probably are not optimal for releasing muskies after a hard fight.
