Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | Hey guys, I bought a Tackle Industries rod (9' Mag X-Hvy, Telescopic) back at the Michigan show. Today I was putting my new Toro on & I noticed that the 2nd line guide from the tip was shorter (smaller) than the 1st line guide from the tip. I assume that they got the guides mixed up at the factory. Do you guys think this will be an issue with casting? I'm going out on the 1st trip of the season in the morning & hope I don't have any issues. Here's a picture to show what I'm talking about: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j67/zibjones/IMG_0681.jpg

Posts: 42 Location: Becker MN | It will hinder casting distance a little bit but probally not to bad. But it is not right, you should contact TI and ask them. They can steer you on how you should proceed. I would guess they would switch it out.

Posts: 910 Location: South-Central VA | It WILL NOT hinder your casting distance at all. It's only an issue as far as aesthetics, it will not affect performance. If it was my rod, I'd forget about it and go fishing. If you decide to go ahead and get it fixed, I'm sure James will take good care of you. jeremy

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | I am my own worst customer and I HATE bad customer service. I used to work at Wal-Mart in the 80s and the motto back then was, "The Customer Is Always Right". I worked in Electronics and I had a customer come in and he had a broken phone that looked like it had been in a mud football game. Not only that but we never even carried that brand of phone. My manager at the time said, find something similar and take it up to the customer service desk so we can take care of this customer. Wow is all I thought at the time.... So, we either got a customer for life or we taught that college hippy (I was one too so I can say that) to bring in all of his broken crap to use for a new item ![]() Your welcome Mike. James

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I have found myself 'wishing' I could have a problem with some Tackle Industries stuff so that I can cash in on James more than taking care of the situation. So far, I haven't been lucky enough to have a problem. ![]() I guess I'll just have to settle for his excellent communication and fast shipping to know he has excellent customer service. Hard to go wrong buying something from James. Tucker
