| For you guys that do a lot of night fishing, do you prefer to fish with your headlamps on or off? If you fish with them on, are you following your bait to the boat? I fish with mine off, but thought about giving it a try with it on. I would like to hear some of your experiences. |

| I think turning a big light on the fish helps control it, and I have regretted not getting light on a fish sooner, however for headlights, only if there is a problem or fish actually hooked. I don't mind fishing with the boat lights on at all, but I don't like flashing lights. |

Same here! Important to get the headlamps on as soon as possible to reduce how much a fish may spook/go nutso when the light hits them. They don't like it too much to be hit by light for the first time at the boat. |

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | I've thought about mounting waterproof flush lights below the gunnel bumper all the way around the boat with 2 easy to get at switches, one in the front and one in the back. Get a fish on, hit a switch. This has been an idea I've had for many years. Just hard to justify that many more holes in the boat, especially so close to the water line. It is an older bass boat that doesn't look anything like new but still.....my other issue with it would be if I drill a certain size hole and then can't get anymore to fit that hole in a few years when I need to replace any. LED's would help but sooner or later moisture and vibration would certainly claim them.
I saw a boat at the Milwaukee show with lights in the rubber bumper strip....nice idea but I'm way to hard on my boat for those to last, even LED's. |

I would think you of all people would be pretty leery about doing anything that compromises your boat's ability to float...hehehehe. I still think of that every time I am in the area where your boat went down and am thankful everyone was ok. |

| off for sure, you may think its dangerous to your boatmates but when your eyes adjust you can see pretty well in the dark. Turn them on when you get a fish. |
