After getting a report from my friend that on Monday night out on Lake Michigan he got a double limit of Salmon that weighed over 100 pounds in a hour and a half, I had to get out there this Tuesday.
Fought the traffic through down town Milwaukee and finally got out on the water. After a 3 mile boat ride in 3 to 4 foot swells plus a 15 mph wind, I set out my first two lines. We trolled for a little while when we both decided the the lake was a little to rough for my Tuffy Esox so back in we headed. Boat back on the trailer and heading home, when I hear someone honking there horn and motioning to me that there is smoke coming from my trailer tire. End up pulling off the freeway and driving 12 miles to my parents house at 5 mph. Drop my boat off there and proceed to head home. Almost get home when the low fuel light comes on. Go to get gas when I realize that my wallet is in my boat. Put $1.85 (the change I had in the truck) worth of gas in the tank and go back the my parents house to get my wallet.

I should of just stayed home tonight!

I have had some of those days. Last saturday broke a light and trailer fender when pops hit a semi tread. Water pump impeller needs replaced, went through the line and cleaned it out and got to see a dead person smashed in their pickup truck. [::)]

Sorry to hear about your problems Bill. Although it's good to hear that I'm not the only one that has trips like that.

Jason,
I'm not even sure you would have wanted to be out there in your boat last night! One heck of a ride. Cody liked it but not me!

If we combined my vehicle and your trailer, we wouldn't have made it out of the driveway.[:knockout:]

Lake Michigan wasn't exactly kind to me my last trip out either (Sunday). Not only was I unable to locate active fish, but when retuning to dock and skimming across a claybanks area approx. 1/2 mile out, managed to find a boulder with the lower unit. Absolutely trashed a stainless steel prop and the lower unit housing...[::)]

Why did I ever abandon rowboats and farm ponds?!!!!
