Posts: 484 Location: St. Louis, MO., Marco Is., FL, Nestor Falls, ON | I have a friend here on LOTW who owns a nice resort. I had coffee with him this morning and he mentioned that he might be interested in renting several of his one bedroom cabins by the season, rather than by the week. He wondered if there would be much interest from fishermen in doing seasonal rentals. I mentioned also the possibility of time sharing. I think he might be on to something here. I know that I have had a number of people ask me if I could find them a seasonal rental here in Nestor Falls. There have not been many available. He has three furnished cabins he is thinking of doing this with. I think they might just go pretty fast. He and his wife are great people and they run a quality camp. They just want to ease their time requirements somewhat since they still have a young family. This is a mainland camp, not an island camp. I have been doing this for 10 years here and it's very nice to be able to leave your stuff in the cottage and not have to haul it back and forth from year to year. If you believe this concept might have some merit, let me know what you think. He's serious about this and might do it yet this year, rather than waiting till next year. If you want to share any private thoughts just send me a personal message.

Posts: 484 Location: St. Louis, MO., Marco Is., FL, Nestor Falls, ON | I think he's trying to figure that out right now. When I find out, I'll post it. The house I rent is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage with laundry, cable and phones. So I can't use mine as a comparison. I think there might be some real savings, especially if several groups go together and split up their seasons. But some retired guys who have dreamed of doing this just might find it real attractive. I'm actually going to do this in July. We got a cabin in the Sabaskong Bay area for the season for $2000.00. It sleeps 8, and $2000.00 divided by 8 equals a pretty tough to top deal. I can't give any specifics, but this is the real deal. A lot less work to do by the owner as well by doing it this way.

Posts: 132 Location: MN | I think it is a great idea. Depending on cost, they will go quickly. A friend of mine has the same deal at a cabin by Morson. I think they are paying $1800 for the season. Makes it convenient for both fishermen and owners. It would be great to know the price of these.

Location: Oswego, IL | Be careful with timeshare things. You can end up with an owner who doesnt quite match the hatch if you know what I mean. otherwise seasonal sounds good, email me the details when he figures out what they want to do. [email protected] I am paying 2k for 4 guys 1 week on the NW angle includes gas, boat, and 1 day guide. So you see that would be sold out every year I bet if they did a whole season June - when? What the heck is an entire season. I also may be interested if he sells some.
