| The sonar on my LCX 27 C that is just over one year old quite working last week end. On Saturday it work work occasionly and then simply show the depth of where it stopped working and then it would work again for awhile. Occasionly, the whole unit would turn its self off. On Sunday it never did show the correct depth it showed 1.4 ft all day, but it did stay turned on all day. It also shuts down when I start my motor. Any advice on any ot these issues would be appreciated. |

Location: Eagle River, WI | I second the low voltage idea. I believe that all Lowrance units shut off when they get below 10.5 volts. |

Location: St. Germain, Wi | I had the same problem with a lcx 38 when I installed it last year. I upgraded to a 1000 CA starting battery, ran dedicated wires to a lone switch and ran all electronics from there. No more problems. That switch also cuts power to the GPS puck when your not fishing. Location: Twin Cities | Check your connections, on my old boat this was always an indicator that the connection was loose/corroded on the battery. |

| The newer lowrances also do not like small gauge wire connecting them to the battery. Heat becomes an issue and the units will shut down as you stated. I'm not saying this is your problem, but it can be. Something to keep in mind. |
