I caught a couple of fish trolling last year, and I'm probably going to do a little more trolling this year. What are good rod holders for light duty trolling. The biggest baits I will troll will be a legend perchbait or hooker. I've got a 13" believer, but don't know if I'll use it or not. I want holders that will flush mount and remove easily.

Get some Down East rod holders and be done with it. If you get the cheap plastic ones you'll save $10 and eventually just get Down East's in a year or two anyway.

I know the down east are good holders, I don't like how permanent they are. I really want holders that I can store in a compartment for 95% of the season, and then pop them in when I need them.

get clamp on down easts. or, get the RAM 7000s. you'll have to mount the ball to your boat but they're easy to take on and off and can be configured any way you want. The RAMs are about $50 a piece though.

I like Folbe. Easily removable, multi-position, and very strong.

Right now I'm leaning toward the Folbe. Does anybody have anything bad to say about the Folbe or any other options to consider.

Either get metal one's or plan on loosing a rod and reel somewhere along the line, it's really that simple.

Are there any metal holders that are removable without unbolting the whole unit?
